Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Say we ask Man United for a loan of Lingard for the next four months and they turn around and say 'sure, but you have to pay us £12m if you qualify for the Champions League'.

Do you do the deal?

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Teams targeting the top 6 don’t stop signing players because they have a youth player who might step up in a couple of years. If Cheater pushes on and is good enough then he’ll get his chance. True, but the truth is we score and create plenty of chances with our front four, and have cover for a lot...

How do they know we will play the home leg at second? i.e. the 17th and not the 10th?

Is that because we topped the group?

Also, £65 for Band 1, a game in midweek that will be televised.

Blimey
Yep - topping the group means we're seeded, so will play the home leg second.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Brennan Johnson would be a great signing, he would suit our style of play much more than Carvalho or Kean-Potter. Only slight reservation is that he plays the same way/position as Dan Chesters who has signed a new three year contract today. Johnson is only 12 months older than Chesters. Chesters is...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I'm still not sure I want Lingard regardless of whether he has a little dalliance with Newcastle or not.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Is Kamara a realistic target for us? Seems half the league is being credited with interest. Can play CB and DM. Really impressed with him whenever I've seen him play.

Still got a gut feeling we'll have one new face by the end of the window. No more. Loan or permanent.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Not true. He played in the Eredivisie for a year scoring 10 goals and also has 10 international caps (with 3 goals). He looks very impressive for his age and is already built like a man. Saints fans are raving about him. I don't see it happening but he would be an astute signing for us. I personall...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

He's caught the eye against us, which will mean a certain level of interest thereafter. However, he does look like a Moyes striker. A handful, strong, occupies defenders, looks like he could have an aerial threat. There's a mould of striker he seems to like and Broja does fit that on an eye test. I...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Do people really believe we should be spending £25m on Broja? A 20 year old with 5 goals and no assists in 18 league appearances this season? One who averages 10 passes, 0.1 key passes, and 57% pass completion per game? Some of you have standards so low you must have an absolute field day in Wethers...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

BBC reporting that the total cost of the Lingsrd deal to Newcastle would be £15m if they escape relegation. If Newcastle are only covering Lingards £100k salary (and not more as reported) then that means that Man U want roughly £13m. That's obscene. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60137505 Two...

Re: EL Last 16

Is this really in March? Seems long a heck of a long time since we last played in Europe until the last 16 round - I guess it's odd because of the little mid-round of ex-CL clubs playing 2nd placed clubs in the group round.

And I wholeheartedly agree that the club has been top class with Isla and her family. I certainly wasn't trying to suggest otherwise. Ah, sorry, wasn't trying to suggest you had suggested otherwise! I do think with the way the club has conducted themselves around this they will plan something. It m...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Update from Ex on Patreon: The club, on the back of the Lingard situation with Newcastle (although we do expect Newcastle to try again), will try another attempt at a deal but Manchester United are very reluctant to deal with us and there are issues to resolve still with his former stay here . Does...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

If you could only choose one scenario.. Would you rather have Lingard on loan for the rest of the season, and he signs for someone else once his Man Utd contract expires. Or Not sign him in this window, but sign him in the summer, as a free agent on a 3 year deal? Neither of these options are 'sign...

Who the hell is Julian Alvarez and why are Man City signing a Sully Special?

Also, nice to see the true GOAT Gabriel Batistuta get a mention, reckon he could still do a job for us.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Between them Burnley and Man United are giving everyone in the Premier League a lesson on how to deal with Newcastle right now.

'We want Chris Wood'
'His release clause is £25m, pay it or leave'
'OK!'

'We want Jesse Lingard'
'Well, it'll cost you £10m'
'Would you take £6m?'
'Nope, £10m'

Moyes Buys Car On Hire Purchase
Nah, Hire Purchase means that we'd pay installments during the loan and at the end the car is fully paid up.

This is a PCP one, pay installments now then a lump sum at the end of we want to keep the car.

Re: Isla Caton

Would love to see the club put that 'Isla heart' somewhere on our kit for our next home game. This one. https://twitter.com/WHUSupportClub/photo Might there be some kind of kit regulation that prevents it? Think the club has been pretty classy on this one. A nice post of a picture of her with Noble...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Isn't a capable striker who can give Antonio a chance to rest when out of a form also a way to better Antonio and increase his longevity? We've got another 3 years of him now. Maybe, but if you want someone to fill in for Antonio when/if he's out of form without a drop off in quality and output do ...
