Re: Bayer Leverkusen - West Ham United Friendly Saturday August 5th
Benrahma-Soucek-Emerson down the left side is going to get carved defensively. Emerson not good in a back 4. Soucek - I would rather a Downes/Alvarez pivot.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Chelsea: match thread
Had to watch on tape and came away from this game as pissed as I can be. I cannot understand the decision to give a red card on that. First time I saw it I thought it was Balbuena who yelped in pain and that he was fouled. How can you be sent off for kicking a ball and not being given a place to lan...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread
Masuaku shouldn't ever be allowed anywhere near the left back spot again. Ever. Liability. Masuaku is better than Cresswell - Cresswell is perfect as a LCB, but does not have the pace to play LB. If we go 4-2-3-1 then I would be fine with Johnson at LB - not going to give you much going forward, bu...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread
It is time for a back four (more possession) and taking advantage of Haller. ---------------Fabianski---------------- Coufal-Balbuena-Ogbonna-Masuaku -----------Soucek----Rice-------------- --Bowen-----Fornals-----Benrahma-- -----------------Haller------------------- Randolph, Diop, Cresswell, Noble...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
I’ve been heavily critical of Arthur in the past but he was excellent for the most part today. His close control and ability to play out when pressed was priceless. Makes me nervous at times, but no risk no reward. Not sure what you all hear from the game in your broadcast, but in the States you co...

Re: Should Moyes Get A Contract Extension?
Yes - without a doubt. He needs to be extended and then backed, with him making transfer decisions. Get Haller out of here, and bring in KIng. Its clear what Moyes wants in his CF and it is not Haller. Let him build the squad. Keep the team out there today against top 8 sides. Against bottom 10 side...

Re: Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham Utd match thread.
I cannot believe we drew that game. Because of a family party, I was to miss all but the first 15 minutes of the game. Set to watch it later. After 15 minutes I was like, ok, forget about that one on to next week. Come to find out its a 3-3 draw. That takes some character.
Fantastic stuff.
Fantastic stuff.

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Apart from Rico and Manning who are both not an option I understand what other lb's have we been linked with? We need one. Pardon? Kristian Pederson from Birmingham City - 26 years old. Is a pretty big kid. Plays 90 minutes a game. Played in 48 competitions last year with 4 goals and 2 assists. Pro...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Agree with the more conventional 3-5-2. I've mentioned this before and I don't see why we couldn't play this against some teams. Especially if we get points on the board early on. We have the wing backs for it. Soucek and Rice as the holding pair. The man at the point behind the two strikers is a p...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Could work. The only issue I have with it is that we'd be changing a system to accomodate a player rather than the more preferable bringing in a player that fits the system. It would be preferable, but it would also mean have a consistent philosophy...which clearly we do not have. That said, it is ...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
Last season Antonio's injury was just as much a factor to the teams demise as Fab's. If we lose him again we've only got Haller - who can't play that role, so it means changing the system, which means losing the benefit of playing Cresswell at LCB and Arthur as WB - both of whom are far better in t...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I can't get my head around signing Benrahma completely, especially not for the money rumoured to be involved - not because I don't think he's good, but because I think we could not sign Dawson and instead sign a third first choice CB to replace Cresswell and a LWB to cover Masuaku to deal with the ...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
The signing of Benrahma is weird to me. If we stick in our current 3-4-3 who leaves the team for Benrahma to enter, Fornals? Now - against lesser sides if we go back to a 4-2-3-1 that could be an exciting side, except that Masuaku at LB is scary. Dawson - don't see why people are getting upset by th...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC
How I see it too, out of our subs on Sunday I think only Ben Johnson is the only one I'd trust to bring on and that's saying something. Haller, Yarmolenko , Lanzini and Anderson just don't offer us anything. Yes they're good players "on paper", but we rarely see it. Haller has 5 goals in ...

Re: Summer 2020 Transfer Thread
I think its nice to speculate, but we know in our heart of hearts that the fact that the Championship window is open for longer is merely a coincidence, and not an indication of a potential strategy to cherry-pick the best players from the league, to improve what we've got. Are Championship teams g...
