Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

There was a passage of play just before he was subbed where Ant ran from the half way line to the box and just missed a very decent chance.. in the same time it took Haller to look left and move 10 paces...just sayin'

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Fair play, you've seen it 95 more times than me. I feel your pain cause yeah rice and Antonio's goals being struck off was beyond belief. The joys of supporting us eh! That's where we are, watching var over and over because we're pony...law of averages it shouldn't make any difference! Mate, I'm ju...

Inconclusive. Seen it 100 times and I'd go with the ref's initial call, slight handball, advantage to the striker - no goal.

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

I couldn't care less if Brighton played better than us, Liverpool have won a dozen games this season where they played poorly, goals win games including deflected ones. I thought Oggie's own goal would be disallowed as Fab was impeded trying to clear it. The ref disallowed the third goal for hand b...

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

Deflections Premier League players will be allowed extra leeway when it comes to ricocheted handballs. It is often impossible to avoid contact with the ball if it has deflected off the body of an opponent, team-mate, or even another part of the own player. So a handball will not be awarded if the b...

@ageing hammer, great post mate, and for what it's worth I was right opposite where they won the corner that led to the goal...it was a goal kick all day long. Not a whistle on motd.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Manchester Utd: match thread (29/9)

I was so feckin happy.. I had goosebumps at half time... Not just cause we were 2 nil up but that we were playing quality football and the crowd were up for it. I can't remember the last time I just had a gut feel we wouldn't throw it away. Easily the best all round performance since Upton Park, aga...

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

The last 2 games at home have been utter dross, Stoke (ffs) and Man C, slashing your wrists sort of games. My kids have almost lost the will to live and if it hadn't been for some of our away trips this year we would be throwing the towel in, no question. Despite it all they were both reasonably ent...

Re: West Ham Utd v AFC Bournemouth: match thread

Yep, I thought the first 20 was as good football as we've played since we moved there. Really good stuff, shame we couldn't get the goal. After that it went a bit flat but still reasonably entertaining. Arnie had a strange game, looked like he was walking in quicksand. Everyone more or less did thei...

Re: West Ham Utd v Shrewsbury Town: match thread

yeah..it was dull...and brass monkeys cold, as cold as it's been in there since pretty much year dot. But in a strange sort of way it was ok. The first game, I really thought we were trying to throw it. For a while I feared we were going to throw this one, but then when Arnie and Nobes came on that ...

Re: Shrewsbury Town F.C. v West Ham United: Match thread

Shrewsbury were unlucky. They missed a golden chance there. It hate to say it but I almost wish we'd lost. At least then I would've been certain to the end of my days that they threw the match. That's what it looked like. But no such luck, now I will have to live with the fact that we we simply dogs...

Re: Shrewsbury Town F.C. v West Ham United: Match thread

Just out of curiosity, why are we concerned around the full names being used in the match threads? Did I miss the memo :? Not a memo as such, but I saw a couple of comments about respecting every club's tradition. There's good reasons for the names..I remember a Hull City fan on here not that long ...

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham Utd match thread

I have to confess, I'm old school and agree with Moyes. For me no foul. I respect him for coming out with that and not doing a Jose or Wenger. Begrudgingly, I can see where Moyes was coming from with that comment. Still think it was a potentially season ending tackle though. Great point on b...

Re: West Ham Utd v West Bromwich Albion: match thread

I'm really struggling to get excited about this, but that was a mental finish. First half was simply awful. Huge gaps in the right midfield/right defensive, no surprise whatsoever when the goal came. Zaba, knackered, Obiang, dear god! Lanzini struggling, Cresswell borderline, Masuaku, ffs..get a cro...

Honestly fellas, I don't get it. Can somebody explain what the rule is? What does it mean, "if there was contact they can't prove it?". What does that even mean when it might be a brush of the shirt or the forward initiating the contact? That twitter clip is very telling in that Ali initia...

A dive's a dive. Ali has previous as well. If Burnley don't kick up a fuss and the cheating fecker gets away with that,...well, they might as well cancel the whole corrupt shitshow.
