Re: West Ham Utd v Aldershot Town: match thread

A right winger playing on the left wing, A right winger playing right back, A winger playing central midfield, A striker playing as a right winger, Oh and Piq is lazy and can't be asked - Mate, I hear what you are saying, but I'm not one of those c*nting the players or coach off, I'm glad Sam used ...

Re: Books you are reading

Started reading so called 'classics' about a year ago.

Now reading War of the Worlds which I'm really enjoying.

p.s. Has anyone read Pride & Prejudice? I found it really really hard going and had to give up in the end. Is it worth sticking with or should I just borrow the dvd?

Re: Manager XIV: Allardyce Confirmed

Can't say that I was over the moon to hear he was going to be appointed the other day but I'm warming to him. Certainly made all the right noises so far. He deserves a fair crack now imo and I hope we'll all give him some time to get it right and not expect success to happen overnight. Good luck Sam...

Re: Manager XIV [POLL Two]

Anyone that thinks that Carr ismore likely to do a better job for us than Allardyce is deluded. Take the romance out of the situation and you sound a bit stupid. The man has never managed a senior team ffs . Unlike Avram Grant. But yes, you're right. Carr would be a gamble and sadly football ...

Re: Manager XIV [POLL Two]

Under Anyprice Allerdyce our traditions will be six foot under with the wreaths withering on top. There are plenty managers capable of bringing us back up without compromising our values. Pardew springs to mind! I'm a big fan of Pardew and he's said some nice things this week, but he took two season...

Re: Manager XIV [POLL Two]

Would it not be prudent to see what he actually does (assuming he's offered the job and subsequently takes it) before drawing such a conclusion? Agree with you there UtJ. Can't say I'd be over the moon with his appointment (to put it mildly  ), but if he gets the job he deserves to get a fair ...

Re: Manager XIV [POLL Two]

Whoever gets the job (if it isn't the main target) will know he was always 2nd or 3rd best - and so will everyone else. Just think...this could be happening every night for the next week as one manager after another turns it down - until we get to the equivalent of Harry's "bare bones" an...

Re: Manager XIV [POLL Two]

I too would rather stay in the Championship playing good football for a few years than have Allardyce and be up in 1. But that isn't neccessary, because you can play good football, and get promoted straightaway, as has happened several times in recent years. Name me the coach who will provide the l...

Re: West Ham Utd v Sunderland: match thread

That's what I meant NP...strengthening to the max. I think some of us thought that keep a couple of players mixed with some kids and some loans would do us...but clearly not... Yep, I make you right there. I'd like us to keep some of the younger ones like Collison, Noble, Sears, Spence etc. I'm rea...

Re: West Ham Utd v Sunderland: match thread

It pains me to think Wigan, QPR, Wolves, Blackburn and one of Swansea or Reading will be a division above us next season. But we've been here before but hopefully for not as long. The loss in the playoff final hurt me more than the relegation the year before. But I think today shows how much streng...
