Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I just hope nobody has damaged by seat in the Billy Bonds with all that unnecessary jumping up and down.

Cottee, wow that’s a provocative bit of info, but as you say it is from twitter so I won’t believe it until confirmed.

Re: Top Flight Clubs Fail to Agree EFL Funding Deal
David Sullivan, the mini-me Donald Trump of Essex. Of course, he’s worried about a regulator with teeth, if it means a bit more oversight of this club’s financial shenanigans. It might also be difficult for him to resist a supporters trust, one can only hope.

Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 ✈ The Away Game & Match Day Logistics Thread
Likewise. I missed out on Frankfurt ( having already bought a Eurostar ticket) by just 1 point having gone to Seville and Lyon’s with similar size allocations.I fear some similar less than transparent distribution of tickets will happen again now we are in the quarters. However, as only on 36 points...

Re: Dear Citizens of the Peoples Republic of KUMB
I agree with all the comments about showing respect for others views, self-censoring posts prior to sending, restoring some humour into proceedings, and last but by no means least, thank you to all the excellent work undertaken gratis by the moderators. This remains by far not just the best West Ham...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
I see someone posted an allocation of 2500 for Leverkusen, surely it’s only 1500 if their capacity is 30k?

Re: [Long read] Germany: the rise of the far right in football [non WHU]
UTJ , cheers for posting this article. Makes for both depressing and positive reading. The positive being the fans groups fighting back against the neo-fascists, the depressing is the rise of racist fascist politics in Germany. The PL is undoubtedly becoming politicised, but not at the supporter lev...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
The OS is a bowl in a soulless park, surrounded by ever increasing soulless new buildings popping up seemingly at random. It’s not a football stadium located in a living community which is what traditional football stadiums were. Not many left now in the PL. I was at Goodson Park on Saturday almost ...

Re: Away Tickets Thread -
It’s not a question of ‘couldn’t care less’, it’s the fact that the match is in the middle of a working week and would mean taking a minimum of two days off work plus costs of give or take £500. I could care less, that’s why I’m leaving home tomorrow morning at 9am to go up to Liverpool for the Ever...

Re: Away Tickets Thread -
I don’t think the situation re: standing in your allocated seat has got any better or worse over the past decade. People will always want to stand next to their friends/ family if they can. I’ve often found people in my space when I finally get into the ground, seemingly always just as the match sta...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
I had a quick look at the Brighton and Liverpool club sites and they don’t have any info about their away leg tickets either. So we are not alone. I’m just hoping the allocation is 2k+ , so my measly 35 points will get me a ticket. But I have a bad feeling that the Club London or whatever the corpor...

Re: Stan Bowles R.I.P.
Saw Stan play a few times back in the late 70s. Wonderfully gifted player at a time when no one was playing percentage football, just entertaining football, and he certainly entertained. He finished his career at Brentford and was a favourite there as well. So I sincerely hope there is a minute’s tr...

Re: Train user survey
I also completed the FSA survey and agree it was very vague with no clearly stated objective. I for one rely entirely on the train to get to away fixtures as have no car, nor have ever had a need for one. Ever since privatisation of the railways back in the day the reliability has been generally poo...

Re: To Clap The Players Or Not, That Is The Question
For me personally, and maybe it’s because I am older and have a long football cultural take on this, but you never ever boo your own team and the end of a match. This was it what I learnt when I first starting going to Upton Park back in 1970, and I’m not about to change these principles, but I do u...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread
I was at the Brentford v Liverpool match yesterday. Brentford started well pinned Liverpool back with high pressing. Then Liverpool mugged them with a boot out of defence, a header and a lovely chip by Jota over the head of the goalie. This forced Brentford to play even more on the front foot, and L...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
My personal preference would be to get a draw against Feyenoord if they can beat Roma in the away leg. Proper supporters, Rotterdam a great city, and easy to get to by boat.

Re: WHU related. Rylan, Football, Homophobia and Me
Of course he’s absolutely correct about the negative impact of masculine toxicity in football, and wider society. However, as a man in their mid-60s, I have witnessed a much more positive attitude towards diversity, for want of a better term, among our supporters over the past decades. The Away game...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Having watched West Ham in all the current PL stadiums (bar Bournemouth as will never have the points), I would agree entirely that the OS is the worst stadium in the league. This primarily relates to it being an athletics stadium, but also its general decrepitude after just 7 years, and just too bi...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
So no new posts on here until hey ho we lose 6-0. Unbelievable and very odd behaviour. Nothing like a humiliating defeat to remind ourselves the supporters / season ticket holders that this is not a football stadium and never will be. Nothing wrong with that at all. It’s not odd behaviour, in fact ...
