Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]

26 points after 10 games.

Since then 34 points from 22 games - form that would put them back in the 8th place they were last season.

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

Hard to believe we can qualify for Europe when you see the Var generosity given to Newcastle and man united over the last couple of weeks.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

I would be devastated if we had scored that and it had been ruled out. Not sure what needs to change for common sense to prevail though. If Fab's eyeline had not been 'obscured' he would have got nowhere near it. There is something fundamentally wrong with either the rules, or how they are interpre...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

The speed with which they contradicted themselves was impressive. Reality is a lot of players including our own deploy the tactic of standing on the goalkeeper in an effort to ensure he can’t come out and claim the cross, if their own player moves away after it’s clear Fabs isn’t coming out then he...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

So Ian Wright and Dion Dublin both think it is the responsibility of the goalkeeper to move when their eyeline is obscured by an offside player.

This has at no stage been the rules of football.

Brighton losing is preferable for our own interests. I’d love another year in Europe no matter how we achieve it.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

This is pathetic. How are we always far worse at pressing, passing and keeping the ball? I know our players can do it, we've seen it in the past, for us and other clubs. So what makes them all suddenly **** at the basics of football so often? Can't keep a football for more than a few passes, its aw...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread

Really good performance, from 1-1 we had the better chances. Entertaining game with 2 teams playing to win.

It’s disappointing we have no decent subs, can’t argue with Moyes staying with the starting eleven.

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread

BBC live updates reporting on Moyes complaining about refereeing as “he must have got out of the wrong side of the bed”. Odd that the managers of the big clubs don’t get dismissed like that.

Re: Fixtures March 29th- 4th April

Neville said the ref has clearly decided to let things go. Now I applaud that tbh but how can you begin to have consistency if the ref can decide which rules he will enforce dependant upon the teams involved and the nature of the fixture. Rice committed a foul that would have got him yellow at West...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

I hope the FA come out and clarify whether the second penalty was a correct award or not. If it is, then we at least know where we stand when other players initiate contact like this in future. Personally I think Gordon has always been a cheat since his early days at Everton, and referees need to be...

I also feel sorry for him. But if there was a rumour that he was a secret agent being paid to derail our season I’d find that completely believable.

No doubt this post will get lost amongst all the other people on here saying the same. I’m trying really really hard to keep my emotions in check here and try to be objective but you cannot shake the feeling there is something sinister happening here. Two decisions taken against us, taking an inord...

And this one…

Seems to say that ticketless fans of ‘big clubs’ could be a problem, after UEFA previously blamed the same thing in the Champions League but were found to be incorrect.

7 points and 8 goals against Brentford, Everton and Burnley - arguably we’ve got both. Swap the Everton and Burnley results and I think most would be fairly happy.

Looking at it from the other side, if I was a Burnley fan I’d be seething at that result. 2-0 up at half time and make a substitution that clearly gives the message to try to just hold on for 45 mins. Invited us on to them and they were lucky to get a point in the end.

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

I didn-t watch the game, but the consensus of opinion is , we were rubbish, players giving the ball away, whilst others were sloppy and sub standard. This is nothing new, this has happened time and again for God knows how many years and what is more, it will happen again and again some. We are talk...
