Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

No doubt this post will get lost amongst all the other people on here saying the same. I’m trying really really hard to keep my emotions in check here and try to be objective but you cannot shake the feeling there is something sinister happening here. Two decisions taken against us, taking an inord...

Re: Europa league tickets on sale to s/t holders

And this one…

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68547181

Seems to say that ticketless fans of ‘big clubs’ could be a problem, after UEFA previously blamed the same thing in the Champions League but were found to be incorrect.

7 points and 8 goals against Brentford, Everton and Burnley - arguably we’ve got both. Swap the Everton and Burnley results and I think most would be fairly happy.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

Looking at it from the other side, if I was a Burnley fan I’d be seething at that result. 2-0 up at half time and make a substitution that clearly gives the message to try to just hold on for 45 mins. Invited us on to them and they were lucky to get a point in the end.

It hit his head first. Under current rules I don’t think the ref can give it.

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

I didn-t watch the game, but the consensus of opinion is , we were rubbish, players giving the ball away, whilst others were sloppy and sub standard. This is nothing new, this has happened time and again for God knows how many years and what is more, it will happen again and again some. We are talk...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

I may be alone in this, but I thought we played decent and always looked the more likely to score. They nicked a goal from an mis hit shot, we missed a few chances. Only thing I was frustrated with was the change at 1-0 down, I thought we could have pushed at that point and gone for an equaliser rat...

Re: Time for a handball law revamp?

It’s clear that adding VAR for handballs is problematic - last night we can presume that the VAR ref thought it was a penalty, whilst the on field ref didn’t. If VAR is supposed to help with any on field bias or pressure from the crowd then it failed. Would the on field ref have been as strong if th...

UEFA will have to explain why that wasn’t a penalty.

There is no better manager in world football than an under pressure David Moyes. Any real talk of him being sacked and suddenly the wins start happening!

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Would have been amazing if we had bought a real LW who could track back in January, and play Paq central, Bowen up top, Kudus right, new guy left, with JWP/Phillips (when he gets his game back) next to Alvarez, with Soucek and JWP available to cycle in and out of the midfield or come on later for s...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

9/5 on Brentford to win sounds very generous to me, considering our form and how we usually do against this lot.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I'm curious about this too. As an American who recently adopted West Ham as my team, that season is what sold me. Wanted a non Big 6 team and the Lingard team was so fun and it felt like attacking. Maybe it was mostly on counters and I dont remember, but it does feel to have gotten progressively mo...

Re: 👋 Farewell, Said Benrahma

I always liked Benrahma - played the same way whether things were going well or badly, always wanted the ball and trying to create something. This time last year he was in the running for hammer of the year. My opinion is he was underrated here and did well for us. As much as I liked him, something ...

If I was a Bournemouth fan I’d be very disappointed with that second half. They let us back in and were celebrating the point.

This game has been a perfect example of why players dive. Ref buying it every time and giving nothing if you stay on your feet.

Was just going to post the same thing.

This guy came out of our game and complained about one of the most blatant red cards all season.

Just embarrassing and desperate for him to complain again now.
