Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

It’s not and never has been the location. It could have been a very decent place to play. It’s the entire matchday experience, the lack of anything WHU related from Stratford station, the feeling of being cattle scum when leaving, the feeling of being the biggest shop in Westfield while being despi...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

I reckon you’d find a way to defend it if G&S are somehow still involved Why would G&S change the name to Red Bull West Ham? The trouble is the owners of the club (subject to league regulation) can pretty much do as they please. This has long been understood in the US with franchises in their sport...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

Good job the internet was not around 120 years ago when someone changed the name of the team from Thames Ironworks to West Ham United or moved us from the Memorial ground to the Boleyn. History is just that, if we become Red Bull West Ham or West Ham London tomorrow many (myself included) will hate ...

Re: Sunday Supplement

Well it'd be a strange comment to make if he/she has, because that clearly wasn't the inference. Clearly Sky thought it could be otherwise why make the statement in the apology they did (seen the apology on the site now). Also it is clear from the apology the statement “a culture of having their ha...

Re: Sunday Supplement

Sky had zero choice. I have not seen either programme but if journalists on a Sky show implied the board were putting their “hands in the till” without proof of criminal wrongdoing (as that is what that implies) then the journalists sold Sky down the river. There is a world of difference between “ha...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Cash in on Diop - we would be lucky to get our money back way he has played this year. Still perhaps we should start him upfront against City as he looks a danger in both boxes.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Glad we got Bowen done. I really struggle sometimes with what people want. Loads of posts asking for young championship players. We get one of the best goal scorers in the Championship in the last couple of years now people saying he is just like Snodgrass (who is not and never has been a goal score...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

More likely another club has expressed an interest and possibly offered more than we had agreed initially.

Re: Sunday Supplement

Mega Ron However GSB would only have to prove that the comments were capable of being aimed at them. A journo (nor Sky's editors) really shouldn't be loose with their language when using phrases like 'hands in the till'. They could pretty much use this forum to show that - let’s face it that is how...

Re: Sunday Supplement

Did not see the programme but has anyone seen the letter? It is possible that all the board asked for was for the section to be removed and not repeated. As others have said even oblique allegations of criminality either on behalf of the owners or the club more generally are very different from comp...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

I don't think they can move him without FIFA dispensation - he's played for two clubs already this season. They might be able to send him back to the previous club - Basel. They will offload him in the summer. That may depend on which division we are in. Ajeti might be seen as good competition for ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Kouyate is only different because we sold Fernandes and Obiang. The only thing I will say is that Pelligrini did rejuvenate Snodders and Antonio, and perhaps he could have done so with Kouyate. Wilshere is not present enough, nor Sánchez good enough as a replacement. Soucek is ostensibly the first ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

We flogged them Tomkins and CK for not being at our perceived level. Both would now walk into our team as first choice starters easily. It really is pathetic how GSB, Pellegrini, etc have wrecked the squad. Tomkins was a shame but wanted to play regular and was 3rd choice here. According to many on...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Palace are safe and sign ferguson and bowen fee agreed 16 million. Were joint second bottom, bring in a ex keeper and a loan.... “Joint second bottom” Could just be Ferguson and Bowen do not want to play in the Championship again next year which they will not with Palace but is at least questionabl...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Just about every manager every year says how difficult the January market is yet for fans it easy “get the deal done on 1 January, where is the problem”. There are a limited number of players clubs are willing to sell who a Premier club would want to buy (in essence a sellers market), those players ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

But at the start of the season Fornals was worse than Lanzini is now. You could see there was a player there however and as he has settled so it has emerged. Lanzini is still a very good player but for me he is currently suffering the same malaise as the whole squad MP/MH built. If you are going to ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Moving Reid on would I believe free up another overseas space in the squad. People talk about freeing the wages as if this is trivial. So far it has cost us the better part of £5m or more in wages since he last played if he is on around the rumoured 70k a week, why add in excess of another £1m to th...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Rice is a very good player. This season he has had some poor games accepted but he is 21 playing in one of the most responsible positions on the pitch. He has tons to learn. On here I see terms like DM or “box to box” as if every player has to fit into some football manager style cliche. Rice is a g...

Re: WH Holding Ltd accounts released

That wage jump in 2018/2019 is shocking. Even with the cutting of last summer (if next year’s accounts shows there actually was) then it is questionable if it is close to back to where it should be. The 60% of the year before is about right.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Thing is with the MH signings is apart from true mistakes (Sanchez, Roberto and, given his injuries, Wilshere) none have been great this season. Diop was excellent last season but this, well £20m looks not far off right as his inability to head a ball and questionable positional sense is becoming mo...
