Re: ⚽Oxford United v West Ham United: LC R3 Match Thread

It's sad to think we will never win this trophy. It'll get scrapped in the next 10 years. All the years of focusing on the league & nothing to show for it.

Re: West Ham 2019/20. A guide/warning

The team very much has a 90-00s feel to it, when it was just fun to watch game by game. We didn't win anything or even have lengthy spells in Europe, but we had lots of attacking quality & lots of really bad defenders.

Re: Easier if I supported.....

I had to pick a team from the first ever game I went to. West Ham Vs Emley. Starting to think I got it wrong.

Re: Easier if I supported.....

I'm sure like most others, West Ham was bedded into me from a very young age, so I had no real choice! I knew who West Ham were before I had an idea what football was. Conversation of past players Bonds & Brooking, the crest plastered over the house. I can remember going to games at a very young age...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Not sure it can be considered a successful window. All we have really done is replace Arnoutovic, Nasri & Adrian. Yes Haller & Fornals will likely be upgrades, but they are like for like. Had Arnoutovic not kicked off again, we probably wouldn't have even signed a striker. We haven't improved our pr...

Re: Five players you wish had never worn the Claret and Blue

Tal Ben Haim deserves a shout out. If he had never played for us, it would mean that Avram never would have been our manager!

Re: Five players you wish had never worn the Claret and Blue

1. Lionel Scaloni
2. Ben Thatcher
3. Robbie Keane
4. Matthew Upson
5. Benni McCarthy

Shouldn't need explanation :D

Re: Summer Window 2019: Rollcall

I imagine if you include wages saved, the net spend will be very close to breaking even. Another year of no investment from the owners.

But of course we will still hear from Jim White "They spent 70 million once again, they are in the best league in the World. What more do the West Ham fans want?"

Re: On Carlos Sanchez...

Guy I sat next to last season booed Sanchez for the entire season whenever he was playing or warming up. Booed him even before he kicked a ball.

"Booo Sanchez, booo, you're s***"

Well, you get the idea. He was a grown man as well. Very odd behavior.

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Not sure why we'd be after Wanyama. He's very much turned into Kouyate. Was a very good player, now completely finished. Spurs are trying to flog him for a reason.

Re: Hugill v Savio

Hughill is at least a Championship / League 1 player, yes the price was ridiculously but he's still a footballer

Savio wasn't even a footballer. Either the most dodgy deal or we got conned. Our version of Ali Dia.

Re: Summer Window 2019: Rollcall

That spend graph is interesting.

Take into account the reported budget was about £25 million. If we sell Obiang for around the 8 million mark, that'll most likely mean no more transfers until next summer, bar a loan or a free.

Re: Hugill v Savio

Need to consider who they we're brought in to replace as well. Hughill replaced Ayew, who other than being a decent finisher in the 6 yard box, was a pretty average player. Ayew wen't on to get relegated with Swansea. Savio replaced Craig Bellamy, who was our best attacking player & went on to play ...

Re: Diet and Fitness

Just thought I'd add - I'd love to learn how to box, but due to digestive issues, I really can't train with any intensity or frequency. Does anyone have any recommendations where to start? I've been teaching myself at home for a bit, but I need someone to really teach me the technique. Tried persona...

Fitting that it's Tarrico - He was probably our best striker at the time (Yes, I know he was a defender)

Might see him return this season!

I'm just trying to think of obscure players now.

I thought Diego Tristan was number 9, but it looks like the players are in date order, so must have not been.

Re: Nine at 9

1. Davor Suker 2. Jermain Defoe 3. Jobi McAnuff 4. 5. Dean Ashton 6. Ilan 7. Carlton Cole 8. Andy Carroll 9. Javier Hernandez The hardest one remains! As it's inbetween McAnuff & Ashton, I'm going to just guess at the strikers we had at that stage David Connolly Neil Mellor Jeremy Aliadiere David B...
