Re: Huge rise in ST prices

With the increase in prices anyone know how much more we will be making on gate receipts now compared to UP ?

Re: Renovation of Training Facilities/Rush Green

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. They could easily get a loan with reasonable payments of say £5m a season.

Re: Renovation of Training Facilities/Rush Green

You will never be an Elite club working out of portacabins apart from just being embarrassing there are numerous other factors. Such as attracting players, imagine if we are in a battle with Leicester for a player and they visit both facilities. The same with young players and and their parents opin...

Re: Just how big could West Ham be?

We were well on the way to becoming a 'big' club in the mid 60's but due to a lack of vision and investment from the board it didn't quite happen. Just to recap the mid 60's. FA cup winners in 1964 (when it meant something). European cup winners cup winners in 1965, when that was a very prestigious...

Re: Just how big could West Ham be?

United and Liverpool becoming big clubs is pretty interesting. There’s a lot as well do to with timing which is very prevalent in Arsenal and Chelsea African following which really swells social media followers. But come back to that. I think Liverpool is pretty straight forward they had a build up ...

Re: Just how big could West Ham be?

Yes indeed, around the mid 60's we were probably top dogs in the capital.[/quote] Seriously where do you get that idea from ? We won 1 FA cup and cup winners but were a bottom half team. Spurs won the double European titles FA cups, Arsenal and Chelsea were both top half teams. We’ve never been bigg...

Re: Two Pairs Of Nobodies (the European finals thread)

I’d suggest winning the champions league is much tougher now than when it was the European cup. Go and check out some of Liverpools runs to the finals in 70/80s it’s laughable. Most didn’t face a decent team till the semi final. Same as every cup competition. Only way you’d get a true reflection is ...

Re: Two Pairs Of Nobodies (the European finals thread)

That tweet from the official West Ham Twitter page, has certainly ruffled a few feathers.. Think it’s pathetic tbh makes us look really tinpot. What other club with intentions of being taken seriously would ever tweet that. Would Everton have tweeted that even if Liverpool had lost I very much doub...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Lo Celso is very different from Gomes imo. I think Lo celso is much more like eriksen creative and goal scorer. Gomes is much more a controller in midfield imo.

Re: Non WHU Sheikh bin Zayed Al Nehayan:

This sounds all but done now. Also seen Villa owners are worth more than Kroenke. If Leicester Everton wolves spend we could be looking at an expected position of 12th before the season even starts. No question the depth in PL is getting tougher and tougher. Stand still for a season and you’ll be in...

Re: Huge rise in ST prices

Can 17k actually be true ? I mean how many ST did we even have at Boleyn can’t have been much more than 25k. That will mean just 8k ST will remain out of 50k surely that can’t be true.

Re: The greatest English Footballer of all time (WHU related)

Greaves goal to games ratio for England is misleading. He was a bit of a flat-track bully scoring freely against weaker opposition but disappearing against tougher opposition. When he came to us at the end of his career I was genuinely amazed at how skilled he was (bearing in mind he was really booz...

Re: The greatest English Footballer of all time (WHU related)

I think Greaves gets massively underrated. His ridiculous European club goal scoring record was only broken by Messi and Ronaldo last year. Had he played in 1966 but for injury I think he’d be viewed differently. I think I’m also correct that his goals per game ratio for England is miles ahead of an...

Re: Top 8 Next Season

Tbh top 8 is irrelevant if you’re talking about being 8th that does nothing for us as a club bar an extra £2m. It has to be 7th and Europa. The money for Europa has gone up 50% Arsenal will make €40m for reaching the final that’s without gate receipts. A good run in Europa could be worth up to £50m....

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

This last game really does make a difference how you judge him. 9th and a 10 pt improvement is a decent season. 12 th and 7 pts is a bit meh considering the hopes at start of season.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

I’m happy to give him another season but I’m not really convinced. I think the last couple of results paper over the cracks. Spurs were clearly thinking about Ajax and Southampton on the beach. It may be a bit ageist but all the clubs doing exciting things have young vibrant managers. We may see som...

Re: Kaveh Solhekol: Upton Park now

On the flip side we got an £800m for nothing. So even if we had developed the property and taken the profit like Arsenal did and Spurs are doing we’d still be massively in debt. However considering GSB property involvement you’d have thought some sort of deal could have been done with Olympic commit...

Re: Week's other games (4-10/05/19)

The biggest worry rather than actually winning it is how this sets them up for the future. CL prize money went up 50% this season, they will make a small fortune. With the stadium Levy literally couldn’t have timed it better. He’s probably just ripped up every naming rights offer he had on his desk ...
