Spurs winning is a disaster for us. Last time City lost a league game in a comical and humiliating fashion like last night was 3-2 away at Norwich.
They then demolished Watford 8-0 at The Etihad the following week.
I don't think anything else needs to be said.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020
Joe Allen is not better than nothing - we are better off developing Coventry or another academy midfielder than using up a squad spot on an ageing journeyman who will want stupid wages.

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread
Biggest takeaway from last night for me was the manager changing the tactics/formation depending on the opposition. How many times did Pellegrini need, and yet fail, to do that during his tenure? Our change from Bournemouth seemed very obvious, and it worked. Coming down to a league one pitch, away,...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC
Masuaku played his best football under Moyes imo - beating players for fun and sharing the defensive side with Cresswell. Hopefully he is deployed in a similar role as our midfield is not good enough for him to be a 'modern fullback' ala Trent or Walker. Suspect Haller will thrive also, although our...

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)
I'd be astonished if anyone thinks we'll win this. Even when we've been in good form this lot have bullied us and done us 2-0. We will get battered next week. The exact kind of physical hardworking side that excel playing against us. 3-1 Burnley, Wood x2, Rodriguez and Noble pen. Season over and a f...

Dreading tomorrows game, absolutely convinced we are going to get stuffed. Either by Villa or by Mike Dean.

Pukki will score, and I expect Haller will too.
This game will be won by whoevers defence decides they might turn up.

Re: ⚽ Newport County v West Ham United: FL Cup Match Thread
I have no doubt we would have conceded last night if Ogbonna had played. Balbuena made so many aerial clearances whilst Diop had a tough battle but ultimately came out on top. Roberto had a good game as did Sanchez. Hugely concerning that Cresswell was being skinned by league two defenders. Anderson...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Concerning fullbacks... Looking at the top six; Zinchenko + Walker Robertson + TAA Alonso + Azpilicueta Kolasinac + Bellerin Rose + Trippier Most of them you would say their attacking output is their strength. Only Azpilicueta and Rose I would call being good defensively. Point is the way the modern...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Steinberg update; Announcement pending. West Ham about to break their transfer record and sign Haller in a fee worth up to €50m. Good way to respond to Arnautovic sale and Gomez disappointment #announcehaller Looks like we are home and dry lads. We can now look forward to the no doubt ghastly announ...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Have a horrible feeling this little debate over paying the lump sum vs instalments is going to tear this whole thing down. Whilst most transfers are done in instalments, we must be aware that release clauses in La Liga are entirely different and Valencia's agreement is only void if we go to La Liga ...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread
Pellers is reportedly happy with the two LBs according to Sam Inkersole. Everton supposed to be looking at Cresswell but doubt that happens.

The second he was involved yes, but the first goal came from a ball in behind Cresswell, where Ogbonna had come out aswell, leaving Diop as the only centreback to contest the box against two Cardiff attackers.Patito wrote:Fredericks made mistakes for both goals. He wasn't the only one though.

Re: ⚽West Ham Utd v Huddersfield Town: match thread (16/3)
Strange that Fredericks is being dug out here given both goals were down to a lack of communication between Cresswell and Ogbonna either on the overlap (1st goal) or inside our own box (2nd). Snodgrass Hernandez and Noble were all very poor and Anderson was just getting kicked off the park. Need to ...

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
Maybe controversial but I would not start Lanzini against this lot as they will try and kick us off the park from minute 1. Match them in physicality and let our flair players pass through them. Manu can come on at 60 when the game is hopefully won.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Newcastle Utd: match thread (3/2)
Yes Newcastle beat a 10 man Huddersfield and Burnley (who are terrible away from home) at SJP. We should still be winning this and going for it. Fredericks is now first choice in my mind. Lanzini probably not ready to start yet but on last nights showing assuming we have no new players back.. Fabian...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
I know we are at slight risk of veering off topic but Payets corners really weren't all that...it was his dead ball delivery from free kicks into the box that were sublime along with his direct free kicks. I don't remember us scoring many direct from a Payet corner delivery aside from Antonio v Sp*r...

2-0 City and another rant from Klopp about how we had the audacity to let City beat us and didn't try and help him out.
As long as we keep the score down can't be too unhappy, they are the best footballing side in Europe at the moment.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
I think they will score first but we will win. Crowd should be up for it and will be behind the players. I do think Pellegrini is doing a good job at trying to change the mentality of the players and having the belief to hold on where necessary or to come from behind when chasing the game (brighton,...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Fulham: match thread (22/2)
I think he will try and win this in the first half so that he can ease players back in for the second 45. I suspect Pellers will start 4-4-2 with Arnautovic coming in for Snodgrass. We know he likes that formation and to be honest we should be capable of putting 3-4 past them if we are it from minut...
