Re: Protests against the board being planned

I just for the life of me can’t see how any right-minded West Ham fan could ever accept these owners, after all they’ve done to us and the club. They could panic-buy, put on free buses and disband the OSB all they like, but the damage has been done and there’s no going back from that. They have sho...

Re: West Ham Utd v Liverpool: match thread

That is a championship defence and midfield. I said it at the start of the season but was hoping the Pelligrini tactic was to outscore the opposition. How much would it cost to sort out that mess properly? 120 - 150million? Instead we have spent the vast sum of 0 on any right back in the last decad...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Hi all - my first post since joining and I've been reading this thread (in particular the last few pages) since yesterday. Although I'm still quietly optimistic that the ground can be improved I cannot see it happening under the current regime. I think enough people are starting to realise this now...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

If you think that they won't sell now because of the stadium clawback, then they will never sell with the clawback that would be put in any agreement to buy the stadium. LLDC/E20 have been burnt much more then expected when the lease agreement was being negotiated 8 years ago - the restrictive cove...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

Anyone looking at the finances of buying the club will see that the deal we have on renting the stadium is a very good deal. There are very predictable costs to the club for the next 20+ years which are less than the matchday costs incurred in hosting a match - let alone the unpredictable maintenan...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I watched the excellent Iron Men film last night for the first time which made me sad for what has replaced what we had. It was interesting though to hear Sullivan back then admit the extra revenue would only be "another £10-15m" per season but it would be the size of the stadium that would attract...

Re: West Ham Utd v Liverpool: match thread

In a way & I hate saying this, as soon as Livarpool score the first, we should have a gentleman's agreement & just have a friendly kick about, the rest of the game. We keep our goal difference down & don't pick up any silly injuries or bookings. I know it would be ridiculous but then thanks to GSB, ...

Re: Too many games

And the game was played at half the intensity. Was it though? They all ended up looking pretty knackered, in those days. Wonderful pitches now & lighter footballs, by the look of them. Better training, better diets, better boots. Some have said that modern players are just not as tough as players u...

Re: West Ham Utd v Liverpool: match thread

So I'm expecting Moyes not to play Haller and just pack the midfield and defence, keep it tight and hope for a lucky break late in the game (maybe a counter attack hoping Antonio can get a whiff- there isn't anyone else with enough pace). Just hope he doesn't do his hamstring in again. There's ever...

Re: Security checks means I'm missing kick off

Aside from how utterly pointless these checks are given they don’t really check anything, wand thing goes off “what’s that” he says “car keys” I say “ok through you go” it really wouldn’t take much to get anything remotely dangerous into the ground. The remove your hat - “anything under your hat” h...

Re: West Ham Utd v Liverpool: match thread

What a c*nt Klopper is.
He should have played his strongest team yesterday & now he wouldn't have an unwelcome replay.
Then he could have played his reserves against us. He'd have still probably won.
Not such a clever manager then..

You know we didn’t win much. But that didn’t stop you going. You knew it was something deeper – much, much deeper. You knew in your heart it wasn’t about winning. At the end of the day, it was you, your family, your mates, your life, your story, the feeling of belonging -the simply being there. And...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

The 'gamble' that Gold & Sullivan took, has failed. Well, for the fans it has. The trouble was, it wasn't a gamble for them because it didn't have to work, in any way, for them to 'win'. Those two are the only people who will not lose, when they eventually leave. They kidded themselves that magicall...
