Re: Russian troop build up on Ukraine border.

So the West would rather Russia invade the Ukraine than give them the guarantees they seek ? Why's that then I wonder ? Why would any nation/organisation (NATO) give assurances to an aggresive neighbour? That's surely blackmail on a state basis? The Russians may have concerns with NATO being on the...

Re: Russian troop build up on Ukraine border.

Unlike Brexit . What, the Brexit vote where 52% voted to leave the EU, against 48% voting to remain? I would say that's EXACTLY the root definition of democracy. The people chose, rightly or wrongly. They at least had a choice. Or is it only democratic if a certain percentage choose to vote, or not?

Sort of agree, although the Avanesyan vs Taylor bout could be decent.

Re: Boxing thread

I like both of those bets, mate. It's either down to Joshua's size or Usyk's movement. My thinking exactly fella :newthumb: Will Joshuas obvious power be too much for Usyk, punch and physicality wise? Or will Usyk's very good movement keep him out of harms way long enough to have AJ possibly blowin...

Re: Boxing thread

Joshua vs Usyk next weekend Shabu. Who do you fancy fella? Think I'll have a cheeky tenner on mid-bout stoppage for AJ, and another on late (10-12) stopage for Usyk. Gotta say, I'm really looking forward to this one :newthumb: I'm not the biggest AJ fan, but think it could be a cracker. Bonus also b...

My heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones and friends.
It's never nice to hear of the passing of a fellow hammer, especially one as dignified and brave as Geoff.
RIP fella. Rest easy.

Re: Jesse Lingard

Personally I think he's been extremely professional about the whole will he/won't he transfer saga, and unfortunately (as I really wanted us to sign him) he decided to stay at the club he loves and, possibly, give it one last attempt. However, last time I looked he's still a Man U player, and theref...

Re: Declan Rice

A release clause is tantamount to putting something on eBay. The club stance should be he isn’t for sale. He stays till 2025 or someone comes up with an offer of a net positive to West Ham Football Club. For me that would have to be £125m + and a guarantee it all goes to the manager for reinforceme...

Re: Declan Rice

I think put in a clause for whatever price so that we say to rice you get a new deal, increased wages stay until the end of it etc but if you do want to leave that's the price people have to pay Isn't that exactly what Rice wants and the reason he HASN'T signed a new contract - the board are refusi...

Re: Boxing thread

There's a potential classic next weekend here in Southern California. Luis Nery 31(24)-0 of Tijuana meets Brandon Figueroa 21(16)-0 of Texas in a Super Bantamweight unification belt. Both fighters are in their prime (26 & 24) & both like to get the knockout. Even though Figueroa is American...
