Scott Parker 'may' be worth a gamble too as he is a pretty similar character to Fat Frank and given time I could see him becoming a solid manager.
Not heard this one before, like it.

That describes Anderson and Lanzini as well.
Anderson has got gas to burn and will take a player on (although I'd rather he did that more often than trying to play a killer pass) so I disagree on that point.

Lanzini very rarely plays wide.

Re: Pablo Fornals

He looks to be a tidy player. Unfortunately for him, we have decided that he is to be a makeshift wide player and he doesn't look to be that at all. This 100%. I don't see that he's got the attributes to play out wide, he's not quick, gets brushed off the ball pretty easily and doesn't seem to want...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Only pity for me is that he did not go to a lower half prem side like Norwich. Would tell us much more about his potential to become a first teamer for us. I think it's the right choice about this. I don't know much about what Norwich's philosophy will be this year but I have to think that as an at...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Hernandez is a very useful player to have in the squad but you can't relay on him to lead the line against the top teams or away from home. There's definitely something in having Hernandez as an option off the bench. I can't imagine there won't be times during the season where we need to throw the ...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

5-8 million for him is peanuts in this day and age, we paid 10 million for Hugill ffs I think the 10m we paid to Hugill was our mistake rather than an indicator of the market. Just wondering whether there is actually much interest in him. We heard a bit about Valencia back at the start of the windo...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

The thing with Hernandez is whether are there any clubs out there that will be willing to take on his wages plus pay the sort of transfer fee that is being mentioned (£5-8m)?

Re: Carlos Sanchez

You can be obtuse all you like but it doesn’t need to be a striker vs a keeper for two players to be very different. Apologies if that came across obtuse, possibly a reaction to posting a thought and feeling that you shot it down with your opinion presented as being a fact. I don't believe they are...

Re: Carlos Sanchez

Cullen and Sanchez are completely different types of players I'd hardly go as far as to say completely different. We aren't comparing a goal keeper and a striker here. They are both central midfielders, possibly with different attributes. Sorry but I don't subscribe to the opinion that if Rice is u...

Re: Carlos Sanchez

I hope we see Cullen get some time against Newcastle. Charlton fans seem to be raving about him, and I get its a bit step up to make to the Prem, but its difficult to see he couldn't at least be the equal of Sanchez as a squad player. From what I've seen of Cullen (not a huge amount admittedly) at t...

Re: 2019/20 Formation and Tactics

Tbh I don’t think there is much difference between 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or even 4-1-4-1. Naturally your centre mids will have different qualities with some being naturally more defensive or more offensive than others. To put it simply we are going to play one up top with two wide men and then have three ...

*&* reporting that Gomez is looking like he is heading to Valencia.

Not the best of sources, but they do seem to have an announcement photo of him in a Valencia shirt.

Could all be twitter photoshop nonsense mind.....

Re: Summer Window 2019: Rollcall

Whilst the graphic is nice let’s not start taking it as gospel as it presumes every deal is on the same terms which they will not be. For example if every outgoing was paid upfront but the Fornals deal done over 3 yearly payments we would have a negative net spend at present. That Is why talk of a ...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I can see the logic in asking for Martial plus cash in exchange for Diop. We want a striker, and Martial is probably worth more than we can afford to spend. He's also young, good, and reportedly disillusioned with life in Manchester/at Manchester United. Martial's wages would be an issue even if he...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I don't have particularly strong feelings one way or the other. Would like to keep him as I think he'll turn into a top player but £60m is a very large amount of money and you would now have much more confidence that it would be reinvested prudently. I think that if, this time last year, we were tol...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I joined the waiting list just over 2 weeks ago so I am very interested to see just how long the "waiting list" is. My bet is I get offered a ticket somewhere in the stadium for this season. Decent chance of that I reckon. I put myself on the list around August last year and got 2 next to each othe...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

With out sales we should have 75 mill easy to spend. Gomez and Lobotka 55 mil Maripan 15 mil Kaldirim 5 mil That’s it What does that mean? The budget is the budget and would be based on how much money is available, not the players we are targeting. Kaldirim is a left back, so if he comes in its not...
