Re: West Ham United v Everton: Match Thread

Seeing a lot of negativity towards Haller today. Bloke behind me in 125 spent most of the 90 digging him out as well. In his defence, at least he was involved enough to be noticed. Don't know what Lanzini was up to for most of that game, seemed positionally to be to playing as a second striker in th...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

He's the same level of keeper as Randolph. The correct answers are Romero and Bravo, who are both very good keepers who could be clear starters for half a dozen top flight sides Incredible. Randolph 2 years coincided with Adrian. Randolph barely got a look in during that time. I also seem to rememb...

Re: [POLL] Are YOU happy at the Olympic/London Stadium?

I'm happy enough with it. My seat is lower tier behind the goal so not too far from the pitch and I go to Pudding Mill lane.

If I sat in the upper tier and had to deal with the stop/goes getting into Stratford, I don't think I'd bother.

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

A difficult one to call. Seen a couple have mentioned the have lost their last two in the league, but those being against Man City and Liverpool away so very difficult to read anything into that. Prior to that a draw against Watford, which isn't terrible given their resurgence. I think at this point...

There's an article up today where Whetstone assesses the 10 point pledge on a pass/fail basis.

Guess how many of the items he gave a fail?

(Hint: it rhymes with 'hero')
He's given a pass to freeze season ticket renewals. Maybe he'll reimburse me for the 10% increase I paid on mine this year..

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread

Impressed with the overall game plan last night. The BT sport commentator said at half time Gillingham would have been pleased to have gone in level at half time and looking the better side. I disagree, I think their best chance was to come quick out of the blocks and hit us hard and early. Under Pe...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

At least it's tight at one end of the table. I think we've got enough about us to stay up. There's quality in the side and we saw a bit more of a plan and commitment from the players in Moyes' first game. Some tough fixtures coming up though so we could do with taking some points out of games with t...

"The three goal, half time margin was the result of a lucky deflection, a ridiculous penalty award and superb skill from someone who couldn't do much right for several weeks.
I particularly enjoyed this fella putting a 3-0 half time scoreline to them just being unlucky.

Re: Gillingham v West Ham United: FAC3 Match Thread

I'd like to see us put out a (close to, at least) full strength side for this one. 5 days before the blunts game on Friday night should be a long enough rest period. 90 more minutes of the first choice 11 practising putting some of Moyes tactics into practice before a tricky run.

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

The way I look at it, the only reason to get rid of Pelle at this point is if we look like we are heading for relegation or there is someone better available. I don't think we'll be able to get anyone better in January and I still think it is unlikely we will go down (especially when we get Fab back...

Can't see Pell playing anyone but Zaba at right back. Wouldn't mind seeing Ben Johnson given the nod, but I just don't see it happening.

Scott Parker 'may' be worth a gamble too as he is a pretty similar character to Fat Frank and given time I could see him becoming a solid manager.
Not heard this one before, like it.

That describes Anderson and Lanzini as well.
Anderson has got gas to burn and will take a player on (although I'd rather he did that more often than trying to play a killer pass) so I disagree on that point.

Lanzini very rarely plays wide.

Re: Pablo Fornals

He looks to be a tidy player. Unfortunately for him, we have decided that he is to be a makeshift wide player and he doesn't look to be that at all. This 100%. I don't see that he's got the attributes to play out wide, he's not quick, gets brushed off the ball pretty easily and doesn't seem to want...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Only pity for me is that he did not go to a lower half prem side like Norwich. Would tell us much more about his potential to become a first teamer for us. I think it's the right choice about this. I don't know much about what Norwich's philosophy will be this year but I have to think that as an at...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

Hernandez is a very useful player to have in the squad but you can't relay on him to lead the line against the top teams or away from home. There's definitely something in having Hernandez as an option off the bench. I can't imagine there won't be times during the season where we need to throw the ...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

5-8 million for him is peanuts in this day and age, we paid 10 million for Hugill ffs I think the 10m we paid to Hugill was our mistake rather than an indicator of the market. Just wondering whether there is actually much interest in him. We heard a bit about Valencia back at the start of the windo...

The thing with Hernandez is whether are there any clubs out there that will be willing to take on his wages plus pay the sort of transfer fee that is being mentioned (£5-8m)?

Re: Carlos Sanchez

You can be obtuse all you like but it doesn’t need to be a striker vs a keeper for two players to be very different. Apologies if that came across obtuse, possibly a reaction to posting a thought and feeling that you shot it down with your opinion presented as being a fact. I don't believe they are...
