Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Not really that surprising to see Moyes and Steidten pulling in different directions, they will be judged on different criteria. Moyes nearly lost his job last year and could well go this year if he doesn't hit the ground running. There's a good chance that even if he delivers a decent season he won...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Is there some rumour linking Leicester with Ings? Isn't he on 100k plus a week? I don't see any championship club paying those sort of wages

Re: Summer Rebuild 2: Electric Boogaloo
The problem that keeping Moyes gives us is that he has shown he isn't able to transition this team to playing a different style of football. So we are having to talk about selling a 30 odd million pound striker and bringing in someone more like the 33 year old winger he won't get a game ahead of. Bu...

Re: AZ Alkmaar vs West Ham Utd: match thread
Coufal will get the nod I'm sure but it would be interesting if Kehrer could play a right centre mid and push into midfield as the top 3 do. This would not only plug the midfield hole we often have when opposition attacks but offer some quick transition and passing options when we get possession. L...

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread
Obviously a massive disappointing result but we played some really good stuff and looked good for most of the game. You'd be hard pressed to tell which team were resurgent near the top of the league and which in a relegation scrap. Maybe it's harsh to characterise Aguerd as having a series of unchar...

Re: Manchester Utd v West Ham United - FA Cup 5th Round
I reckon this will be one of those games where we play well and deserve to win but we'll all be fuming after the game because we'll have lost by a single goal with terrible officiating decision in the mix.

Re: ✍ Danny Ings
Sometimes football is a simple game. Play a proven goal scorer, get the ball in the box, he will scores goals. His positioning, movement and awareness is what has been missing, along with his finishing ability Hopefully he stays fit for the remainder of the season There's a lot to be said for this....

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Nottingham Forest: match thread
As usual Lanzini was a very good watch. His control of the ball and ability to keep things ticking is still the best at the club. With both he and Fornals on the bench there really is no need to be playing Soucek as a 10. I agree, the problem with Soucek is that he isn't really a defensive midfield...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Nottingham Forest: match thread
The frustration with Moyes, regardless of results, throughout this whole period has been the negativity and predictability. Fail to win and he should be gone no matter how he sets up. But even if he sticks 8 behind the ball again and we manage to nick a 1 nil, I can't see that being enough either. H...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Nottingham Forest: match thread
I can't see there being a world where Moyes doesn't start Antonio. I think your right, and I think this is also why Moyes needs to go. The loyalty to underperforming players is baffling. There's enough quality in this squad to stay up at a canter but it's wasted as long as Moyes is picking the team...

Re: ⚽ Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham Utd: match thread
Nothing personal, but I never understand this logic of getting relegated to have a reset. We should be comfortably safe just now and if we need a reset, do it in the PL. There’s no way we are keeping any positive players if we go down. Players like Bowen, Fornals, Aguerd will all be gone for a frac...

Re: ⚽ Derby County v West Ham Utd: match thread
Getting an early goal last night was key. To be fair it came from a passage of real quality which was nice to see. But we know how these type of games against lower league opposition go where we fail to break them down and just get more and more frustrated. Not sure I really get the 7 behind the bal...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I was backing Moyes to turn it around until the Wolves game but we looked so hapless I just can't see it now. He'll get the Everton game as its already Tuesday. For me he's got to really put the cat amongst the pigeons and do something different. I can't watch us line up Rice-Soucek-Paqueta, Bowen, ...

Re: ✍ Pablo Fornals
Pablo on the left when Scamacca starts doesn't seem to play to either of their strengths. Scamacca wants players around him. His hold up play is good but he doesn't run the channels like Antonio does. Pablo doesn't get as far forward as Bowen does on the other side so we end up with this slightly wo...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers: match thread
Sounds an obvious thing to say but goals change games. Bowen has been misfiring this season. When he is in bad form, you don't want to start Antonio because for all his hustle and bustle, he is an unreliable goal scorer. So far this season we've been starting a front three, Bowen whom was bang out o...

Not sure why Sky were smoking when they chose this for the 5.30 kick off.
I'm not sure there is a PL game this weekend that I'd want to watch less if I were a neutral.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Forest are going to have a massive issue if they finish below 17th this year. Massive gamble this. 12 players in this summer. Their fans will barely recognise the team that got promotion last year. It's a massive number to try to integrate and what they gain in quality they may lose in cohesion. I'...

I hope forest stay up. I went to uni in Nottingham, it's a great city and it's nice to see them back in the prem. Fulham - they'll go down and Norwich will come back up and the cycle continues Bournemouth - my like for Parker is at war with my dislike for these lot. I just don't know if they have th...
