Re: ⚽ Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United: match thread

From that same run of fixtures we got 13 out of 15, it was a really easy run. The 5 wolves games in question being: Southampton Newcastle Villa Leeds (the draw) Everton Then the loss to Palace. Never stick your nose up at any run of good results, but there seems to be something of the flat track bu...

Re: Declan Rice

He will go to Chelsea if anywhere. Unfinished business for him. He grew up supporting them, his parents still do and his best mate plays for them, plus he won't have to move out of London. Kante is 31 in a few months time although he looks to have a few years left in him. That said I know that Pep ...

Re: Steven Gerrard Joins Aston Villa (Non Whu)

It's one thing to keep a winning team winning, it's another thing to stop a losing team losing. Let's see if he's got that in his locker.

Villa, Newcastle and Lampard relegated would be a lovely thing to see.

Re: West Ham United ~ Where did it all go right?

Hard to look past giving Moyes the majority of the credit. A manager's job is to make a team which is more than the sum of its. How long were we a club that hasn't been that? Good players on paper but very rarely managed to consistently show it on the pitch - like a bottom half of the table version ...

Re: AFCON

Current dates for the Afcon are 9 Jan-6 Feb. Currently we only have 2 games in that period (Leeds and Man Utd), plus presumably an FA cup game and a possible league cup game if we beat Spurs.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I can fully see us make a move for Lingard in January. Moyes likes to bed players in slowly but there are going to be a few tired legs after a busy December. Plus Benraham will be off to the afcon so we'll be at least a man down. We'll need someone to slot straight in and Moyes has trusted Lingard t...

Re: Newcastle [non WHU]

I think they have got a job on their hands staying up this season. Realistically it is going to be Norwich + 2 going down. Palace and Brentford look to have enough about them that they will be fine, so we are looking at Southampton (maybe) down. Norwich - Look like they are resigned to relegation al...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

You seen what they are charging for those seats up there for cat a++ games? There is money to be made, trouble is its another way of encouraging away support in the home end via our ticketing partners. It's all relative, I mean it's not a great deal in the grand scheme of things. Assuming all cat A...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Those seats are probably going to be right up in the gods. Legolas would struggle to see what was going on from there. The club can't be expecting to make much extra money out of this.

Notable as leap above Arsenal and Spurs in the London stadium size d*ck swinging league though.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread

Should we actually be prioritising this over the Europa league now? We practically need to win one more game against sides we have already beaten to bascially win the group. I think we've got to be prioritising Europa league. A win next Thursday all but guarantees winning the group (Vienna or Zagre...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread

I think rotation is needed here. With the changes to the Europa league, topping the group is key. We're in a great position but we have a chance to all but put it to bed next Thursday. Before the season started I think most would have said this is the least important competition. When you draw 2 of ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur: match thread

The Kane situation has the potential to cast a pall over the whole of Spur's season. He looks a mile off his best but it's hard to see him getting dropped. Obviously Kane making his brother his agent looks a daft move in hindsight, and not putting a buy out clause in his contract looks crazy now. Bu...

Ashby hinting on Twitter that he may start. Could be a good move if he does. Ashby right and Johnson left with a rest for Cresswell? Ashby did start on Monday for the U23s along with Longelo, Baptiste, Alese and Okoflex (think those are the ones that I recall getting first team minutes). It's the s...

Some of you lot make me laugh. Re: Newcastle [non WHU]

If money really was no issue and they have a bottomless pit, then why buy Newcastle? Because it's not about the football for them, or trying to make money, it's about sportswashing. What you want is a well supported club with a lot of history and a bunch of fans who are willing to ignore a terrible...

There's a great deal of whataboutery on this thread. Having bought something from Primark, or any sort of petroleum based product, or meat or milk or whatever else - doesn't preclude you from looking at this deal with distaste. There is a great deal of difference between having bought non-fair trade...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Rapid Wien: match thread

I hope we see a team similar to the one that played the red mancs, they earned it last Wednesday. Shame Fredericks is out, Moyes will have to shuffle the pack and it probably means that one of Cresswell, Coufal, or one of the attacking midfielders will have to play (if Masuaku drops back). Could go ...

Re: Lawro at it again !

Leeds v West Ham Leeds are yet to win this season, and they don't seem to carry the same threat going forward as they did last season. They are still conceding plenty of goals, though - 12 in five league games so far, and at least one in every match. Despite their poor form, I still think Marcelo B...

Re: Is paper thin squad a myth?

We NEED a proper striker and have needed one for some time now. The fact that some of our midfielders like Fornals are chipping in with goals kind of covers it up a bit , but it should havebeen a priority in the last window ( considering Antonio's injury history) and MUST be addressed in the Januar...
