Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

So do those who dislike Moyes’ ‘functional’ way of grinding out wins over the course of the season agree that, without that, there wouldn’t be nights like tonight? Or Sevilla? Or Lyon? Or Prague.

All my best nights at the London Stadium so far have been European ones.

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

I also don’t see it as a ‘fitness’ thing. For me, it’s a little bit of match sharpness (which really should come back after a game or two) but nearly all about confidence. It was pretty shot by his City experience. And just when he thought he was having a chance at redemption, it gets shot all over ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Certainly were a lot of empty seats today - I think a combo between Mother’s Day, ***** kick off time, rubbish weather and - let’s face it - not very attractive opposition. However, it was heartening to feel the atmosphere properly get going on the second half - again I think for a combination of re...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

Perfect result last night. Sets us up for a thriller next Thursday where we have to come out and attack, hopefully leading to an early goal and then end to end drama until we grab a late winner and the Bowl of Doom erupts in joy. Seville revisited. Far better than snatching an away win and then sitt...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

I’m a bit confused by some of the criticism on here. This is how we do it in Europe. It’s worked pretty well for us for the last few seasons.

Very professional job so far, apart from a bit of heart in mouth from Zouma.

Bowen is off it though.

No need for two thousand ITK trying to embellish, interpret or misrepresent on social media. First person insight:

Not getting behind your team….has a negative impact on team performance.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Someone a few pages back quoted figures of 5% approval for Moyes when he first signed, and only 50% approval for keeping him on after he kept us up. That's the crux of the issue for me - his face simply doesn't fit for some people. Never has, never will, which is why he gets jumped on every time we ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I made the mistake of leaving this site and having a general look on social media West Ham threads. Seriously depressed that there seem to be a lot of our ‘support’ who genuinely appear disappointed that we won today. In a week when we’ve scored 7 goals and picked up 6 points, all they want to do is...

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

I may be in the minority but I don’t think we’ve been too bad. Showing plenty of desire and nicking a lot of balls off them. Main problem has been, as others have said, lobbing high balls into the middle where Bowen has no chance. I’d actually like to see Philips on. He knows how to thread a ball th...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Great going forward, dodgy at the back. Some lovely moves and goals but everyone nervous that we’re going to blow it.

Could it be any more West Ham?

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Hate to say it but need more from the crowd. We had a blinding start, but as soon as they got one back the nerves showed.

Much better show than recent games though. We’re giving it a go - need to find that intensity again.

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

Out of curiosity, can anyone who watched it on the box tell me if Alvarez’s yellow was deserved?

Not that it excuses the shitshow that followed, but having him booked so early really rendered our midfield toothless - he’s such an important player for us.

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

I’m not angry, I’m disappointed.

Mostly at the cowardice on display from the vast majority of our team. I’d give Bowen the armband as he’s the only on who shows any bollox.

Re: Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

I think we're all over-thinking this one a bit. Seems quite simple to me: we played OK (better than the last few games) but fluffed our chances whilst Man U buried their's.

So we lost.

It happens.

Re: Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Every time Zouma plays an out ball, he plays it behind the man - meaning we have to track back again and lose any momentum.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bournemouth - Match Thread

Baffled as to why Cornet was only brought on in the 95th minute when. He was the only player in the squad with a scoobie about how to play in that position. I know he’s not great, but the whole balance of the team was off tonight…square pegs , round holes. Doesn’t excuse what looked like a complete ...
