Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

They looked just as unmotivated and lacklustre at times in the first half of the season too, even more so last season. What was the excuse then? Sometimes it’s only the first half but it’s not uncommon Confidence and tiredness, I think. Shipped a stupid goal and suddenly we had nothing on the tank ...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Hopefully Earthy is ok, but you can tell already Paqueta is longing for players like him in the team. He posted on IG about him on his debut and looked straight for him today when he came on. Yeah, I noticed that. Gave him a little pat on the back too when the lad played a nice through pass, just b...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

A thoroughly miserable afternoon. We started so brightly, but after their goal…nothing. Aguerd was powder puff. WarD-Prowse little better. But what really boiled my piss was the complete inability to pass forward into anyone running into space. Kudus looked busy, but how many times did he turn back ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

It’s a free hit tonight. Backs to the wall, frustrate the hell out of them, the odd break to keep them on their toes. Totally made for Moyes. We just need to concentrate, avoid giving them stupid gifts and have everyone put in a shift. Like others, I’m not expecting a miracle win, but I’d be more th...

Not good at all.

Fortunately we don't have to worry about anything similar at the London Stadium, as we already have in place a crack team of experienced and expert security personnel at every entrance.

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread

In the words of Diogenes (one of my favourite posters) ‘I was entertained’ Players put a real shift in all over the pitch, with many clearly dead on their feet for the last 15-20 mins. A fair result and a decent one against Spuds. Having Alvarez back next game will give us a shot in the arm, I think...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

I know I’m in a minority, but I really do feel for the lad. His confidence is shot and, yes he appears short of match fitness but he’s also been really unlucky from day one and that’s not going to help matters. When you’re head’s in a spin you’re going to look ponderous because you can’t trust yours...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

So do those who dislike Moyes’ ‘functional’ way of grinding out wins over the course of the season agree that, without that, there wouldn’t be nights like tonight? Or Sevilla? Or Lyon? Or Prague.

All my best nights at the London Stadium so far have been European ones.

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

I also don’t see it as a ‘fitness’ thing. For me, it’s a little bit of match sharpness (which really should come back after a game or two) but nearly all about confidence. It was pretty shot by his City experience. And just when he thought he was having a chance at redemption, it gets shot all over ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Certainly were a lot of empty seats today - I think a combo between Mother’s Day, ***** kick off time, rubbish weather and - let’s face it - not very attractive opposition. However, it was heartening to feel the atmosphere properly get going on the second half - again I think for a combination of re...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

Perfect result last night. Sets us up for a thriller next Thursday where we have to come out and attack, hopefully leading to an early goal and then end to end drama until we grab a late winner and the Bowl of Doom erupts in joy. Seville revisited. Far better than snatching an away win and then sitt...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

I’m a bit confused by some of the criticism on here. This is how we do it in Europe. It’s worked pretty well for us for the last few seasons.

Very professional job so far, apart from a bit of heart in mouth from Zouma.

Bowen is off it though.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Someone a few pages back quoted figures of 5% approval for Moyes when he first signed, and only 50% approval for keeping him on after he kept us up. That's the crux of the issue for me - his face simply doesn't fit for some people. Never has, never will, which is why he gets jumped on every time we ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I made the mistake of leaving this site and having a general look on social media West Ham threads. Seriously depressed that there seem to be a lot of our ‘support’ who genuinely appear disappointed that we won today. In a week when we’ve scored 7 goals and picked up 6 points, all they want to do is...

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

I may be in the minority but I don’t think we’ve been too bad. Showing plenty of desire and nicking a lot of balls off them. Main problem has been, as others have said, lobbing high balls into the middle where Bowen has no chance. I’d actually like to see Philips on. He knows how to thread a ball th...
