Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

You have no objectivity at all. Someone has said Villa wouldn't appoint Moyes and they are probably right. That isn't an insult to Moyes, he isn't the right fit there in there current circumstances. You can describe a potential/hypothetical situation where villa have problems - be it financial, rel...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

You are talking about when they were or if they could be in a bad situation. What about as a proactive move from where they are now. Being "proactive" means spending more money. Villa need to qualify for the Champions League just to stand still. It amazes me that people still do not get t...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

For all the Aston Villa admirers, their previous four managers before Emery were Steven Gerrard, Dean Smith, Steve Bruce and Roberto Di Matteo. They also face potential financial fair play issues. Newcastle are a bit different as they are now owned by a sovereign wealth fund.

Based on what, exactly? Are the only well-run clubs in the world the ones at the very top of the tree?

Sure they would. Why would they possibly be against hiring someone with his recent performance?

No sit silently grumbling at every misplaced pass. Singing, chanting, cheering, screaming, and making the bowl a cocophany of noise that spurs our team on and makes their team shink back.
Wouldn't put my money on it though!

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Eh? Aside from Fornals and Fabianksi, everyone else is long gone. Haller, Anderson, Diop, Yarmolenko, Ajeti, Perez, Balbuena, Fredericks, Wilshere, Sanchez, Nasri and Martin. Can't exactly say they've been preventative in anything Moyes has tried to implement! That is one of the potential upsides i...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Yeah, I don't think there can be any way Moyes doesn't know about any of the constant negativity. People try and rewrite history and say Everton fans were happy to see him go at the time, but that was more a case of a sugar high as it all went pear-shaped for him while they had a good season. Replac...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

History has kind of shown the only way it works out is if it doesn't involve less success. The arguments against Moyes are getting almost word for word what was said under allardyce (and to an extent curbishley). Thing is, Moyes is a better manager than Sam and Curbs by a fair margin. He has proven...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The fact that I had to ask what the connection was makes it tenuous. Now had he said up there with Graham or Waddell …. Believe it or not, Tim Howard actually believes Moyes is a better manager than Ferguson. "(Best manager?) David Moyes. I spent nearly a decade with him. He bought me to the f...

You should have told Sir Alex and Alan Irvine. I'm sure they would take your opinion on board.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

To be fair, its pretty obvious how much Alan Irvine loathes David Moyes: "I couldn’t get out to Prague so I watched it from home and I was kicking every ball. I was desperate for the team and David to do well. I’m thrilled. “I’ve had a whole load of messages from loads of people asking me to pa...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I don’t think he’s trying to be either critical or complimentary - he’s just stating what we could all see with our own eyes. He wasn’t especially comfortable playing David Moyes style of football. Not a great revelation is it? But that's not what the actual quotation was about though. It sounded l...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up. If I was him I’d take a break for a while. He was sounded out about replacing Rodger, but Celtic seem in better form now. Everton seems an option, though I’d be surprised if he went there given the state they are in. Some suggest the fans there wouldn’t ...

Some people are still in denial. Forget David Moyes. Sullivan is slowly but surely is leaving as well . I was told by someone who was the 1st one to break the kretinsky news . Despite whetstones denial . That kretinsky has a deal in place for the stadium. And he brokered it . As the LLDC will not e...

In terms of replacements.... Andoni Iraola was my choice last season. Glasner was the one I liked most this season. Both gone elsewhere now. Looking elsewhere... what's the story with Eric Roy at Brest? He has spent the majority of his career so far as a technical director, including a spell at Wat...

Tim will have about as much power as the more highly rated Marcel Brands had at Everton under a similarly dictatorial owner - sod all.

I think Moyes has already made up his mind to walk in the summer, so its more a case of who will the club get in to replace him?

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]

You can get away with 'gung ho' in Scotland with Celtic and inferior opposition (Rangers apart). Not so clever in the Premier league. Admirable approach but quite frankly naive at times (that Chelsea game a prime example). That's the thing. Also, Celtic's squad was relatively deep so taking such a ...
