Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Sure. But that's very, very different to suggesting Issa Diop was the only reason we lost the game, or that it was one of the worst performances by a West Ham player in 40 years, both of which have been posted on here in the last two days (the first one more than once). I don’t think anyone thinks ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

To be frank, it's comments like "Last Sunday was all about the terrible display of Diop" which I object to. We play poorly all over the park, deservedly lose due to a litany of individual mistakes, tactical errors, and poor performances, and people still want to make it about a single pla...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Diop’s bad, horrendous actually but Dawson isn’t far behind. He has to take some of the blame being part of this atrocious defence. One of the main reason we have to defend so much when Dawson plays is because he is hopeless with the ball and turns it over to the opposition so much. Can't say I agr...

Re: Who Will Beat Us To Top 4?

For me the priorities are Europe and the league. A run to the final would make us a more desirable location for good players.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Completely agree. The idea that he was solely to blame for us losing against Leeds is absurd. We all know he's far from perfect, but he's our 4th-choice CB and on Sunday was playing in a line-up with one lightweight CM who can't tackle in front of him and another who spent the whole game rampaging ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I get where you are coming from, but tbh I dont think its unreasonable to expect us to beat Leeds at the moment!!! That game was there for the taking on Sunday. We had a huge issue in the midfield, and despite the subs Moyes didnt react to it. Im just surprised that he/the coaching set up could not...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Yet we did this time. And were fortunate that it was only one. It was like watching old West Ham. Wide open at the back, porous in midfield, physically overwhelmed in spells. Some of that was Moyes' selection on the day, some of it is the failure to acquire trusted, good quality cover for Soucek an...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Not really knee jerking. Moyes has been a breath of fresh air, and has us firmly on the up. Doesnt mean he is immune from criticism when he gets it wrong. I think he got it wrong Sunday (and Im surprised he did nothing to change it). Of course, but it was a cracking match we should have gotten some...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

I'm no fan of his generally, but if you want to roll the dice when chasing a game with ten minutes to go, Yarmo does actually sometimes add some unpredictability. I thought his cameo was ok really. We all want to see our youngsters get some game time, but I'm afraid Yarmo offered more than Perkins....

It's all semantics. Surely he is a modern legend?

Personally, I always thought legend was the level below all-time great.

You can argue about Moyes tactics and game management
Can you really though? Top four, good cup runs and European football after Christmas. People need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Some of the knee-jerking is embarrassing.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

We need better cover/competition than we have - which is basically non-existent. Central midfield on Sunday was atrocious and the only starter who was missing was Soucek. If Leeds can do that to us, so can at least a dozen others in the PL. Leeds have lost every single game to top 7 clubs this seas...

I know some aren't happy with how Moyes hasn't signed anyone, let's just hope once the transfer window closes we don't look back in anger

He's fantastic in attack and building our attacks, but he is so easily done for pace and beaten in the air.

Was less noticeable when we had Ogbonna and Zouma cleaning up mind.
Yeah. I would be prioritizing a new central defender over a new LB at the moment. Johnson can do all right at a push.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

How is Newcastle’s splashing the cash understandable or more desperate than our own for wanting to actually achieve something that’s not just staying in the league. We all know what happens if we don’t invest. Nothing. I would love to be in the situation where we invest - give it a go and if we fai...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Whilst I agree we need a left back I don't think it's ever been a priority for Moyes. I do wonder when we'll replace Cresswell, I'd have done it years ago! I dunno. I think Cresswell has been one of the best left backs in the league under Moyes. We do need a younger replacement though. But that can...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Rinse & repeat, we’ve showed patience the last 4 windows where we’ve needed a Left Back & at least one CF. I’d have a decent wager on us signing no one. It’s not like we haven’t strengthened in other areas though. The squad is now very good, but light in numbers. But it’s a gradual process ...
