Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Harrison Burrows of Peterborough. Aged 22, already captain of the club, he joined them at 6 years old and this season, has racked up an impressive 12 goals and 15 assists, mainly at left back ! Ignore my name, I go to a lot of Peterborough games. Went to the 5-0 loss today at Oxford and not judging...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I’m not defending the state of the squad but some of our squad players might look like more viable options if they weren’t exiled for months at a time Again, this is not to take anything away from the fact that Sullivan and whoever else’s mismanagement of the squad has truly ****ed us. Not just her...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Why did he go up top and Antonio left wing after about 60 mins?

Not as if its the first time we've set up to have no possession with him in the team, did the Leverkusen players get in his head early doors?

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

They score so many late goals, way too many to be a coincidence. It’s by design to an extent, eventually they tire you out enough and you lack the energy or concentration to keep it up. Did we give them too much respect? Worse teams than us have given them tougher games but it’s hard to say I don't...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

The near post header he tipped over the bar was magnificent. The save from Schick when he cut it across from the left, brilliant again. Yeah i'll give you that header tipped over, my bad. At the time i thought it was in.... Schick from the angle a Fab should be saving in my opinion, not an easy sav...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Fabianski played well but in my opinion everything he saved you'd be annoyed if it went in. What chances did they have you'd expect them to score i.e clear cut chances...?? Sky sports has 2 which i presume are the two goals, which we could of done better on both but we defended very well most of the...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Come off 0-0 this is a different forum for obvious reasons, however was close to coming away 1-0 down which would of been a result. Looked liked all the posts before the game was for 'moyesball' which he nearly produced but now its not the case its not good enough. The game plan was exactly as expec...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Well done West Ham, put the effort in for 90 mins, resolute and organised. Special mention to Coufal, Fabianski and Antonio who I thought were excellent. DM set us up to keep us in the tie, first goal scrappy the second was to easy for my liking and both from set pieces are hard to take. Credit to ...

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......

Saw a video this week. Was a bloke talking and he asked if someone is born deaf what language, if at all do they think in. Probably a simple answer but got me thinking....not something I've always wanted to know but first time I've ever thought about it.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Haven't looked into it but believe FFP are changing, sure it will to favour Man City etc.... It's very likely Fabianski, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Johnson and Paqueta are gone this Summer. Add Phillips and maybe Ings if someone fancies him. That's 4 defenders, I'd try and keep Ogbonna and Fabiansk...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Someone on a wind up, Paqueta wants Toney join...local bookies must be delighted.

Hopefully Steinden has someone up his sleeve.

My other concern is how Emerson reacts, can't see him leaving but performances might drop a level without his mate.

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

Really need Phillips to start performing, error v Bournemouth, error v man utd, sent off v forest (although personally harsh and was one of the few better players on the day) and hooked at half time v Burnley. I want every player in C&B to play well and if he can find form now he could make the ...

Re: Summer Holidays

Italy is on my radar, never been. Don't like cheese or coffee so always put it off :smiler: Was meant to go to a wedding in Sorrento in May but had to pull out due to an operation on my knee coming up and won't be walking freely by May and heard it not a great place for crutches... Think Rome at the...

We're lurching from one Weather Warning to the next up here - Having been snowed-in for 5 days [ today will be our first trip out in the car since last Sunday ] the next 4 days are giving rain + 50-60 mph gales . Would love to be able to live in the snow during winter and sun in the summer, 6 month...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

Oddly only been two direct free kicks scored all season in the premier league, from 84 attempts. Last season was 17 in 301 and season before 19 in 337. So on average a lot less free kicks in scoring positions and less going in this season. Maybe tactics on defending and wall setup is having a effect...

Can't say anything bad abut the guy, wish him all the best and will follow him wherever he goes. Hopefully he comes back to play against us at some point and can give him the reception he deserves.

Re: Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Maybe its the Bournemouth performance that makes this one look better but i thought we did pretty well, end product was poor but we were getting in some half decent positions. Kudos was decent first half but whether it was sticking him on the right or them realising he was our outlet he was quiet se...
