Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Apologies if this has already been posted recently but I can't get enough of it and at times like these we need a bit of lift from Elvis https://twitter.com/jjames9230/status/1683183655135444992 Great video, but most of the goals scored in that were scored by players no longer with us - Benrahma, S...

Frankly the word "occupying" gets over used to the point of having little meaning by this point too.

The officials were intimidated would be way worse with, 60 ,000 cockneys doing it . Those 60,000 cockneys need to make themselves heard. No sit silently grumbling at every misplaced pass. Singing, chanting, cheering, screaming, and making the bowl a cocophany of noise that spurs our team on and mak...

This is do-able with Bowen in the team. A massive tall order, and bloody difficult, but do-able. ------------------- Fabianski -------------------- Coufal ---- Zouma ---- Aguerd ---- Cresswell -------------------- Alvarez --------------------- ---------- Soucek ---------- JWP --------------- Bowen -...

Re: Israel

Pete's original message has been deleted by a mod, so I'll limit my reply. European Russia alone is ~1.5m square miles. Lebensraum was to be much, much more than that, and accompanied by mass extermination. By contrast Israel is a small nation surrounded by larger, hostile ones. The west bank is mer...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

Let's be honest, this is a bit of an attack on civil liberties. It's not like the age for smoking going from 16 to 18. This is banning some adults from doing it, but not others, by lottery of when they were born. The reality is, alcohol is far, far worse than smoking, but banning alcohol would never...

I remember driving into London down the A13 every morning at about 8:30 in the middle lane as I was the only car in sight.

Re: Things that are gone that you miss

I definitely enjoyed the first lockdown and missed it later. I spent a lot of time with the kids, and in the garden. We were fortunate that the weather that year from March to June as I recall was sunny and hot nearly every day. Compare to last year where I did a lot of lates, worked a lot of weeken...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

It's gonna be tough for all those socially awkward teenagers who need cigarettes to look cool. It's also going to be hard to police, and unlikely to get any sort of proper enforcement for the next few years at least. It also only refers to sales, not the act of smoking itself, so presumably someone ...

Yes but they're called office managers now, and all they do is re-order printer paper when it's running low, complain that people keep nicking the tea cups and share gossip around the office.
