Re: Dear Citizens of the Peoples Republic of KUMB
I took a long break from SM platforms as I found it maddening and depressing, including here. Unfortunately social media is something of a phenomenon that tends to polarise, and drives people into one of two camps on any subject. People will then staunchly defend that camp regardless of the reasoni...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
It's the "clear and obvious" directive that VAR has that blurs things for me. For the Kudus one, if it was disallowed for handball (I don't think it was, I think Gillet has imagined a foul on the keeper), then it's not clear at all. For the Antonio one, even though Antonio has later as goo...

Re: VAR 2023/24
I thought the whole point of VAR was going to be clear and obvious errors. The ball brushing Soucek's arm in a goal mouth scramble that takes over 5 minutes to view at every angle is not clear and obvious. Nor it a lot of the other stuff that VAR is used for, like flagging an offside because someone...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
:eyes: :eyes: Anyone mentioned his failure to give second yellows to Zaniolo (clearly his worst decision of the night after booking Mavropanous), and Luiz (for deliberately bringing down Kudus as he went around him towards the box at the end? Or why no red card review for the Luiz double-elbow into...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
The Kudus disallowed one was the worst of the lot, yet it's not had any air time at all. Even now I still don't know why it was ruled out. Jarrett Gillet might just be the worst referee we've ever had in the PL, which really is saying something. Remember he's the same ref that ruled out Cornet's goa...

Re: Plastic fantastic
Football today is not the football of even 20 years ago. Gone are the days everyone supported their local team and only saw full games if they went to the ground. We had two young lads over from Ireland working with us last week. Both staunch Arsenal fans. They could have picked a better club, but y...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I thought Emery out tacticked himself going 4 4 2 with a CB at RB personally.the pink palermo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 7:25 pm First half today was possibly Moyes finest.
We were superb, he out tactic-ed Emery hugely.
At HT Emery out tacticked Moyes, who didnt know what to do and waited too long to make subs as per.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Absolute joke of a game. VAR is a farce and Jarrett Gillet is as **** a ref as you’ll find. The Kudus goal I have no idea why that was disallowed. Nothing wrong with it. Antonios second his arm is against his stomach. Very harsh to disallow that. Souceks one took them 5 full minutes and even then it...

Re: Declan Rice in secret meeting with West Ham co-owner Albert "Tripp" Smith.
Most likely the IDM has money he wants to invest wisely, and meets someone he knows well to discuss said investments.
There’s 0% chance of him coming back here. Even if he were interested and RecSpurs wanted to sell, the money he’d cost would not be a good investment given our modest means.

Re: Rugby Union 2024
Just caught the highlights.
Looks like some excellent play from England at times, but with the usual mistakes costing us a deserved win.
Still, excellent progress from the dross we were serving up a year ago.
It’s been a good 6N all round too.

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
Right, so this is a bit of a free hit from here on in. A bit like 2022 when we drew series EL winners Sevilla, and then Lyon. If we’re gonna win this, we’re gonna have to do German champions elect Leverkusen, one of the two biggest clubs in Italy, then the Scouse scourge in the final. Away legs firs...

Great first half. Antonio is full beast mode. Bowen dangerous.
Need a bit more from Kudus and Paqueta and this will be out of sight.

Re: Sex Tourism
Women of all ages turning to prostitution to earn money or being exploited into doing so is a tale as old as time.
We’re all a bit naive when we tell ourselves that it no longer happens, or that we are superior to people in other parts of the world where it is more obvious.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Night work. To be fair, it doesn’t irritate me that much. The site is empty, and I can do what I want without people interrupting me constantly with stupid questions like “when will this be done” and “can I carry on running the lifts whilst all of the power is off”. It’s more that come the end of th...
