Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I'd like to see Nico Williams on the left wing. When he gets a full head of steam up, you can't get near him. He's currently at Athletic Bilbao. Both Williams brothers have gone on record and said they would like to be one club players. Only Athletic Club. They're pushing for a spot in the Champion...

Re: Russian invasion of Ukraine

Kind of off topic, but that's what really concerns me about Trump winning the presidency, that he will follow through with his threats and basically break NATO. Then who's going to stop Vlad? The answer to that is sadly the European co-operation still within NATO. While the UK and France have nucle...

Re: Formula1

So, it's still just Verstappen who is the difference not Newey's Red Bull. With Perez being so-so, Ricciardo meh and Tsunoda okayish, who will the bull chose as the wingman, if their driver stays? Don't think Ferrari cares if Sainz ends up winning more races. Hamilton is on board for the long run. H...

He is a mediocre Spector. Can't see much of his defending abilities, and based on his minutes, neither can Moyes.

Re: (WHU related) FA CUP Lack of semi final appearances.

Just seems an abject failure for us as a known cup side We are a cup side since we have won cups, yet never won the league. Don't see us being to good in the FA cup neither before nor after 1980. In over hundred attempts we've managed to win three, and lose two finals. Two more Semis, and that's it...

Meant private :crossed:

Every entity, be it public or private, is bound by plenty of strings.
Government/The public wanting to regulate isn't new or uncalled for.

Re: Russian invasion of Ukraine

Mearsheimer has an inherent fault in his analysis that is too complicated to dive into in NUMB. Lets just say that he is of the same ilk as the Prime Minister who thought the Munich Agreement was a good one.... The Soviet/Russian elites have commited several rounds of genocide against the peoples li...

Government, through elections, regulate public corporations in more ways than just be making them pay taxes.

Re: The next 6 games...

I have a feeling the next 6 games after the international break are going to define our season. My thoughts as well! If we can keep touch with 6th spot after the Leverkusen games, it's game on! If we make it past them, we'll have enough momentum to reach the final, I believe. On the flip side, we c...

Because it was supposedly the contact Soucek's arm made, that disallowed the goal.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Villa currently have a far deeper squad in terms of quality. They're also spending much more in terms of wages. Bit telling, that some on here saw Ings as an option for us in the second half. A player that was surplus of requirements at Villa Park. We could have brought on both Kalvin or James, cha...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

If we could defend properly we’d be 4th. Lots of criticism has been thrown at Moyes, mainly around possession, setting us up defensively, not giving it a go etc etc but his biggest failing is our defence and has been since he came back. IMO anyway. If we would have scored as many as the team above ...
