Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We play a high defensive line. Look at where our defenders are when we are in possession. The difference is we retreat from that high line and give ground when the opposition attack rather than pressing from that high line. At our best, three attackers press to buy us time to drop back and get into...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
He’s experimented with a higher line and has brought in faster defenders so we can do that. For one reason or another, it hasn’t worked out. He also deploys a higher line whenever possible, but sometimes the players sit back because of fatigue/Zouma’s ongoing issues/because the opposition make them...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
"Moyes is cautious and defensive" is the laziest, most unthinking of cliches. We've always scored plenty of goals under him and we've always let in plenty of goals. Actually, its quite on the money. We set up with a relatively low block. When we attack, we break vertically with pace. A lo...

Re: Formula1
That is not the most negative aspect of this season. It will be a Red Bull one-two most of the season, unless something very strange happens.
The gap between Ferarri, McLaren, Mercedes and Alonso is gearing up to be a good fight.

Re: Fixtures March 29th- 4th April
Last night Athletic Club won their 25th cup title. After losing seven finals on the trott I believe, they won on penalties. They'll now be going to jump aboard La Gabarra this little vessle https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fe00-marca.uecdn.es%2Fassets%2Fmultimedia%2Fimagene...

65 is a lot when you have 100 on the bench and never in the starting line-up.

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]
They are ok against teams who have a go at them and leave big pockets of space, but a well drilled team who sits in shape and hits them on the break seems to do the trick with that lot. Not so long ago, they put four past Aston Villa. So they still have that in them. I see that they'll be playing t...

Re: Formula1
He is holding Aston Martin back, that is certain. I get the feeling that he will have the opportunity to carry on until the new regulations kick into effect. Aston Martin and McClaren are my two teams to watch going into 2026. Perez has resurrected himself in recent races, and considering how errati...

Re: Formula1
I am pleased to see Tsunoda making yet another step in his career. He is on course for a Red Bull seat if Perez drops the ball. Something that doesn't look likely at the moment. McClaren also very good, good progression. There fight for second is very good at the moment. I find it very enjoyable. Al...

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]
All the blather about Howe and Newcastle was expectation-management. He was citing Howe as an example of how you can go backwards once the fight is on more than one front, almost as though he wants to pre-empt it because he suspects it's coming. I heard it as a reasonable response to the question. ...

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]
I don't like or dislike him to be fair. However, I see nothing progressive in his 'style' of play. Pretty tedious and predictable (IMHO). I have no idea whether that may improve with better players that suit that style, but he has a squad of top class players that seem to be nullified by that 'styl...

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]
I like him, can't see anything wrong with what he's saying there. I like him too, and his style is refreshing. What he is saying is that the higher up the table you finish, the better. Another topical is building a team. It can be done without the income generated by the Champions League revenue. H...

Re: Formula1
Why would a sportsman want to stay put in a team that doesn't give him the tools he needs to win? If an F1 driver doesn't want to win, he shouldn't get behind a wheel. Didn't Alonso wait and wait for Alpine to make an offer? Did he first sign the contract with Alpine and then sign a second contract ...

Re: Motorcycle racing
You can't race production type motorcycles on street tracks. The safety of the riders cannot be compromised to that degree. Road racing does street, the FIM, IRTA and the riders will not touch street circuits for GP class. F1 was born and bred from a hybrid or street circuits and racing tracks. Moto...
