Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Yes he would. OK. You imagine 35 year old Lewandowski breaking his neck to get into the box from his own half like Bowen did against Brighton. Not gonna happen. We are a set piece and counter attacking team under Moyes. That's where all our good form has come from and that's why we have had success...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
I think Lewa would do well anywhere. Or is that the point you're making :crylol: But he wouldn't under Moyes system would he? 25% possession, quick counter attack style football does not suit him. Nor it would En-Nesyri. Solanke is quick, can bring others into play, has a lot of assists at Bournemo...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
I’m sorry, but this so far wide of the mark in my opinion. I’ve watched Solanke plenty over the last few seasons, he is neat and tidy and a good goal scorer at championship level. He scored 6 premier league goals last year. If you are not profilic as a CF then you need something else to bring to th...

Re: Can Brighton ' Do a Leicester ' ?
Do you just type words without thinking? He's literally just won the world cup. As an absolutely key player. What a donkey. Asking if the goalkeeper is the best of the last 20 years? What's that all about? Solly March is an academy graduate so is largely irrelevant in this context, which is all abo...

Re: Can Brighton ' Do a Leicester ' ?
I sound like a broken record when talking about Brighton but I am surprised more people don’t understand what’s happening down there. ... So are Brighton buying the world's best young players or are they just joining a team full of form and confidence? Is Danny Welbeck suddenly one of the best stri...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
This turning into the worst transfer window in the history of the club?
Lose Rice, Scamacca and potentially Paqueta and bring in Maguire and JWP who absolutely nobody is excited for

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Who is going to be our striker?
Ings?
Can you imagine the slow and pondorous buildup and just launching it to Ings, especially on our large pitch?
We will barely cross the half way line
It's going to be dire.

Re: Where will we finish?
In the relegation mix Aging goalkeeper Slow and pondorous central defence Slow and pondorous full backs Slow and pondorous central midfield Wingers not suited to the slow and pondorous buildup Paqueta not suited to the tactics Antonio has aged. No suitable striker for the slow and pondorous tactics ...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Style of play vs qualifying for Europe and winning trophies?
You just know when Moyes leaves we will hire De Zerbi and wonder why our squad can't play attacking football.
Or what we have to do now is double down and just hire pragmatic coaches for the foreseeable future, like it or not

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
I don’t understand why so many England supporters give him such a hard time when by and large plays good for England, even tho he’s been crap at club level recently. Normally the other way around! I couldn’t care less as long as play good for England He plays well playing against lesser known sides...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
What makes people think Maguire would make a good captain? He's not John Terry or Vincent Kompany. He had been a catastrophic failure as Man Utd captain. His confidence must be on the floor. Isn't that the most important attribute in captaincy? He has never shown any leadership qualities whatsoever....

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Say what you want about Harry Maguire. But if was told a few months ago that this summer we would be spending 40m on a central defender......a position we dont need big money thrown at..... How high up the list would Maguire actually be for you? Seriously? Not just because we are linked with him. Bo...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
A benefit of Maguire is he would definitely come in with a presence. Footballers won’t be giggling at videos like fans online, they’ll know him, the player he can be, the personality he is. The standards of pushing for champions league and trophies will probably give him great stature. The players ...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Does recent form not matter to many of you? Maguire has been a donkey and liability for a number of years now. 40m? Mctominay has been bang average for his entire career. 40m? Just because they play for a big club doesn't mean they would play well here. Probably even worse due to lesser players arou...

Yeah Maguire has a winning mentality hasn't he. What exactly has he won other than a carling cup which he played 2 minutes of after coming on a sub?
**** all

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
What a **** show this is. Who exactly are dealing with our transfers? Did Moyes actually want Scamacca last summer? I know he won us a cup. But the fact is, he is possibly the only pragmatic style manager in the league bar Dyche. He is in his 60s and surely won't have that much of a managerial caree...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
So we've sold Rice for 105m and now Scamacca for what 25m? That leaves us with Antonio the only natural fit for our tactics. If we haven't been spending the last few weeks and months scouting for an Antonio mk2 and instead get 37 year old Jamie Vardy there should be genuine anger within our fan base...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
So we sell one of the best central midfielders in the world and replace him with JWP. Go on any clubs message board and read their opinion on him. Go on the Southampton message board and read their opinion on him. Overrated and bang average. We really deserve better and anybody thinking he would thr...

Re: Summer 2023/24 Transfer Thread
Old in footballing terms, I think we all know that. We are not a club who can spend £35/£40 million on a midfielder with zero re-sale value. Certainly not two of them, anyway. Whoever we sign in the middle needs to be 26, tops, or be £25 million max. Depends who you are buying. We would all spend 5...
