Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

 Also, no point looking to freshen things up or get an extra body up front by moving your attacking winger more centrally! Extra forward players made sense before benrhama, bowen and vlasic not now. Antonio has played every minute of every league game this season bar. Leicester at home = subbe...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

To all those who say we dont need a striker but are looking at goalscorers. That's all very well and good. But we need someone to rotate with Antonio. How many times has Bowen and Yarmolenko played number 9 this season? Not many. Antonio has played nearly every minute of every game. He has also been...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

As of Jan 21st, chances created from open play in the Premier League this season: Bruno Fernandes [45] Mohamed Salah [40] Michail Antonio [35] Jack Grealish [32] Trent Alexander-Arnold [32] Bernardo Silva [31] Kevin De Bruyne [29] It's not so much the chances created but the chances he has. He's wa...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Or 26 goals in his last 54 games playing as a central striker, including his recent run. How many are likely to have got more and what would they cost. Lies, damn lies and statistics. He has had the best chance ratio statistics in the league for the past two seasons. The fact is, he just isn't a ve...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I don't think it would be difficult to find a striker who is better than Antonio. He has 2 goals in his last 14 league games. Ironically enough, most of the strikers in the league are way down on their goalscoring returns which makes Antonio's contributions stand out even though he has been fairly a...

The last time they kept a clean sheet in the Premier league was soon to be six managers ago.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

What i don't understand is despite the club being on an upward trajectory the last two years and being in the Europa league we don't seem to be attracting the "next level" signings. Areola and Zouma are good players. So are Soucek and Bowen. I don't mean the quality of the player I mean th...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Would much rather Patrick Schick.

He impressed me a lot at the Euros.

With our Czech contingent I told myself I would look out for how Schick does this season on the off chance we would ever sign him.

He has 18 goals in 17 games for Leverkuson.

Not bad.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I don't understand the Calvert-Lewin links.

He isn't exactly a like for like with Antonio. They are completely different strikers.

Wonder how he would fit in. Certainly wouldn't fit our free flowing counter style. Would be interesting to see the impact on Bowen, Benrahma, Lanzini etc.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

I mean, I keep reading he kept us in games and makes world class saves etc.

He has played 118 league games for West Ham and kept 27 clean sheets.

That's a poor return.

Again, awful defence. Can't blame him for that but I never expect a clean sheet from us and haven't done for years.

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

Got to say I have never rated Fabianski that highly. There's a reason he is called Flappianski.

I know our defence is awful but his clean sheet record over the years is awful

Re: Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

If you count penalties and free kicks won that convert to goals he has 17 goal involvements in 21 league games this season.

43% of our league goals have involved Bowen.

He is as important to us as Salah is to Liverpool

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

We need a massive defence upgrade more than anything else.

To be where we are with our defence says everything about how well our attackers have been doing.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Don’t need a striker? Ridiculous, we needed a Forward when Haller was here, could argue we now need 2. But we’ve needed at least one for 18 months. Yeah results on a whole have been great can’t argue that but it’s beyond dumbfounded We haven’t sorted it within the last 3 windows. Failure to do so t...

All the strikers we've been linked with and not 1 signed yet Shouid have had one by now, I'm wondering if we're being played by the board again in another transfer window, normal shi# we tried but just couidnt get it over the line, bet when a big offer comes in for rice won't take em long to get th...

Overrated : Johnson/Frederick's. Both can't hit a barn door with their passing and crossing.

Underrated : Benrahma

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Depends on how you look at it. Declan leads and captains by example by the way he plays, and it’s not like Noble hasn’t ever been petulant (picking fights with Tomkins and Ogbonna on separate occasions spring to mind). Constant petulance. Constant arms up in the air moaning at the ref whilst being ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I think the argument with Cresswell is much like the argument that used to ignite for years whenever it was suggested we could upgrade the central midfield. Some would make the case that Noble made the team tick etc. Noble has always been a decent PL player so it's a hard argument to refute. But th...

Re: Declan Rice

Who was the last world class player that stayed with his club and not leave for a team challenging for leagues and trophies? I genuinely can't think of one. They all leave eventually. It would have been great for the Everton fans if Wayne Rooney had of stayed his entire career at Goodison Park and b...
