Re: We've got a problem scoring goals

Well we have a player who has never scored more than 10 league goals a season playing up front.

A player who has scored 2 goals in the last 19 league games.

Not saying all the blame is on him, far from it, but we certainly need an actual striker next season.

Re: Declan Rice

Anybody have the stats of games we have won and lost when Rice isn't in the side the last few years? We have some good players so don't want to give all the credit to Rice but the difference when he came on was like night and day. Even the difference between "prime" Noble is like night and...

Re: ⚽ Kidderminster Harriers vs West Ham Utd: match thread

I have never digged Diop out before but I noticed this in the very first game he played for us and right now it is very evident.

He plays likes he is half asleep. No conviction. No determination.

Laid back to the extreme.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I don't understand why we aren't going for Carvalho at Fulham? Maybe he doesn't want to join or maybe prefers Liverpool but this is exactly the signing we should be making. Think of the profit we could get when we sell him in a few years. Yes thats right, profit on a sale. The only way to progress t...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Im certainly not having a "wet dream" about him just discounting your skewed opinion.... do i want a player in our squad who when he was here last time contributed 9 goals and 15 assists in 16 games? Well you'd have to be a Muppet not to be happy with him coming here for the rest of the s...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

At the very bare minimum we should be replacing Ogbonna in this window.

Failure to do that would be criminal.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

To be fair, it's pretty easy to identify targets when nearly every professional player in the world qualifies as being better than what you currently have! It's also pretty easy to land your targets when you meet any asking price. They are rich and desperate. By contrast, we have a much smal...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

There’s lots of reasons to have the hump with this window and the way we go about our business in general but legitimately and genuinely bidding 50 million for Raphinia is not one of them. Raphinia, Calvert Lewin, Lingard….Moyes all day long. 50 million is a fair and very un-Sullivan like number. b...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Jack Grealish in his last season with Villa scored 7 goals in 27 games. Raphinha currently has 8 in 20. Context though. Leeds have been crippled by injuries. Raphina is doing a one man show this seaon for them. He is on penalties, free kicks, corners, tea lady etc. Without him they would be bottom....

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

It's not really a need though, is it? Johnson, Masuaku and Longelo have all featured there. Our 4th choice has performed at a level that many on here are happy with. It's not a desperate enough situation for us to be panic-buying a Hugill for the position. We are also scoring more goals than we hav...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Pellegrini. Back to the question - How would Diop, who is terrible with the ball at his feet, be a decent signing for possession-based Manchester City? Because they play a high line. Would have more time with the ball at his feet. He doesn't need to be the world's best passer just like Nathan Ake i...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Will Newcastle just go and buy Car direct from OM.... Seems a better option than going for Diop..... after all we are selling to buy Car.... so why wouldn’t Newcastle just go and buy the player we want to replace diop with.... especially as we are not offering any upfront payments and are trying fo...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

 Also, no point looking to freshen things up or get an extra body up front by moving your attacking winger more centrally! Extra forward players made sense before benrhama, bowen and vlasic not now. Antonio has played every minute of every league game this season bar. Leicester at home = subbe...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

To all those who say we dont need a striker but are looking at goalscorers. That's all very well and good. But we need someone to rotate with Antonio. How many times has Bowen and Yarmolenko played number 9 this season? Not many. Antonio has played nearly every minute of every game. He has also been...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

As of Jan 21st, chances created from open play in the Premier League this season: Bruno Fernandes [45] Mohamed Salah [40] Michail Antonio [35] Jack Grealish [32] Trent Alexander-Arnold [32] Bernardo Silva [31] Kevin De Bruyne [29] It's not so much the chances created but the chances he has. He's wa...

Or 26 goals in his last 54 games playing as a central striker, including his recent run. How many are likely to have got more and what would they cost. Lies, damn lies and statistics. He has had the best chance ratio statistics in the league for the past two seasons. The fact is, he just isn't a ve...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I don't think it would be difficult to find a striker who is better than Antonio. He has 2 goals in his last 14 league games. Ironically enough, most of the strikers in the league are way down on their goalscoring returns which makes Antonio's contributions stand out even though he has been fairly a...
