Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
Nathan is the better ball player of all the CBs and I still really like him. But for a tall CB he isn’t dominant or strong enough in the air and I think that’s why Moyes is favouring Mavro and Zouma.

I like Johnson. Not the finished article but he’s one of our kids and we should get behind him.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Seeing the most recent posts I like the idea of both Solanke and Jackson. Sadly Antonio can’t have too much time left in those legs of his and so striker has to be a priority. Again. I don’t want to think about the transfer fees and salary we’ve wasted on Haller and Scamacca, ouch. Solanke we’ve bee...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The bit I’m still not sure on Billy is how much of it is the set up and how much is the players, especially some of our better ones, not being fully fit or just having a bad day at the office. I haven’t seen really negative set ups from Moyes of late. Over the years definitely. What I’ve seen is so...

Fabianski
Mavropanos, Zouma, Cresswell
Coufal, Ward Prowse, Soucek, Emmerson
Kudus, Paquetà
Antonio
Maybe Aguerd for Cresswell

With the likes of Arsenal and Spurs looking for strikers this Summer, I’d be staggered if we can compete financially for Toney

A pretty balanced OV on the whole, not everyone, but enough to tip the hat to the Wolves fans for their realism. More realistic than Ian wright, for sure.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I might get slaughtered for this but please consider the expensive flops who haven’t worked before you bite… Watching Carlton Morris for Luton, I think he’s the closest thing I’ve seen to Antonio for some time. Difficult to handle, physical presence, willing runner, gives everything, and arguably mo...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I see Onana is likely to leave Everton this Summer. He’s young (22) and a bit raw, but, he’s athletic, a physical presence and playing CDM for Belgium so clearly no mug and strikes me as a Moyes type player, IF his mentality is in the right place. I recall that we thought he was coming our way and t...

Re: Where will we finish?
I think we’re going to get pipped by Newcastle to finish 8th, which is really frustrating after the ref and VAR cheated us out of last weeks six pointer. I’m still so angry about that. Could 8th get us in the European Conference next season? I see it debated above but still not sure if the PL get 5 ...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen
Awful timing with BL this week. Fingers hugely crossed for him, in fact everything is crossed.
With Alvarez suspended, everything is stacking up for damage limitations at their place for the first leg. Keep the tie alive for our home leg.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
The inconsistency is what frustrates the hell out of me, not just VAR but also pundits on MotD and what they selectively feel outraged by. Wolves offside goal wasn’t that contentious was it? Seen them given, seen them not. What about Emmerson’s disallowed goal? Where is the outrage there? He hardly ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
I love the OV with so many saying we get up for the match v Tottenham. What do they expect in a London derby? Maybe they should try it.
As for our Cup Final, that was last May actually. Maybe they should try that too.

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Got to say although I feared the worst when Kulusevski and Richarlison came on, I think both Bentacaur and Maddison were the playmakers. They offered very little with those two off the pitch.

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Tremendous to see the effort from the players tonight, some running on empty from 65 minutes. I didn’t think we’d hold out but credit to that defensive performance, even having decent chances to nick it. Spuds first four subs were all better than anything we had on the bench. Five subs to our zero, ...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
I totally agree I a L, I’m still fuming. Two awful penalty decisions, that weren’t actually as bad as the professional foul and red card on Kudus that went totally unpunished. VAR to blame for the two penalties and both the referee and VAR to blame for the lack of a red card. I can’t bring myself to...

Re: VAR 2023/24
I’ve deliberately given myself some time before posting something too reactionary, but I am so fed up with the standard of refereeing and VAR this season that I feel as strongly now as I did watching the match yesterday. It’s appalling. VAR has sucked the enjoyment out of the game I loved so much. I...
