Obviously they are better than Freiburg but how much better? They didn’t look that special in the 2 Quarabag games

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

The amount of similar comments on here along the lines of why can't we play in the first half, like we do ing the second is pretty depressing coming from this fan-base. Does anyone think that with a small first team nucleus that we can go full tilt at every game in both halfs, Sunday, Thursday, Sun...

Re: January transfer window

Aguerd is also important when we have the ball because a lot of attacks start with him hitting a perfect cross field pass to the opposite winger (usually Kudus now). Anyone we sign needs to be good with the ball. this i'm perplexed by the Aguerd rumours - no suggestion he wants out and so many more...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Angelo Ogbonna

I wrote him off before the game, due to his previous appearances this season - but my word this humble pie right now tastes sweet. A vintage performance from a class act. Word for word this He’ll go down as one of my favourite players of all time, a class act is exactly right. That last ditch tackl...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Konstantinos Mavropanos

We paid a good amount of money for him. Well down the list of players the manager had considered over the summer. Out of interest, who was ahead on the list for a CB? Whilst i'm sure he was big Tim's player, on paper he seems like a classic Moyes CB signing - big, good with his head, played in the ...

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

Do we ever invest in January? Seems a long shot to me. Our best signing in years was a Jan signing - big Jarrod Dyer himself. Seemed expensive at the time but looks a bargain now so the supposed January tax shouldn’t prevent a signing if the quality looks to be there. I’m no fan of Moyes style but ...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Mohammed Kudus

I really like him, it’s missed on all the replays but he was instrumental in the build up to Paqueta’s goal and his control and touch are fantastic. Doesn’t lose the ball much either. Play him on the right, Bowen up top and Paqueta on the left drifting in when he wants. Really solid midfield then of...

People are crazy if they think Borges is coming to be a development squad player, he’s only leaving City because he wants premier league starts. He’ll be a first team squad player from day 1 if it happens.

Re: ✍ Thilo Kehrer

We've never played 3 CBs successfully under Moyes, mainly as it ends up becoming way too defensive but I still think with some attacking wingback options and Paqueta + a new dynamic CM, he'd be fantastic in a back 3 with Zouma in the middle and Aguerd on the left. He's getting better defensively as ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Nottingham Forest: match thread

It might be a bit early as it's only been the last 3-4 games but Paqueta looks so important to us right now - moves the ball much better, takes risks and also seems to make Rice play better alongside him. Would like to see more of Fornals and Lanzini - they both looked really good in their 15 mins, ...

https://www.claretandhugh.info/candh-exclusive-aguerd-injury-details-revealed/ To be honest I think i'd rather he plays in the QF and if he is out for us longer as a result, so be it - this is an amazing opportunity for him and 3-4 extra weeks out for us isn't going to stop an inevitable mid table f...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Fulham: match thread

The packet and Scamacca looking very good, Bowen a little livelier, the centrebacks and Cress all solid. Kehrer was less good yesterday - I love how 2 footed he is, a very good passer and comfortable on the ball. Defensively however he seems to have one mistake pergame and he goes down very easily, ...

Re: Lanzini in January

So much respect for the fella, never given up even when he's had big spells out the team. What I would say is we don't have anybody who can pick the ball up deep and progress it forward quickly like him. It's obviously not Soucek's game and Rice isn't anywhere near as good at it when the opposition ...

He won't get a new contract and the end of the season with WHU IMO If someone offers him a 2 year deal we should let him go He deserves that for being the warrior and damn good bloke he's been for us last few seasons I'd love him to stay though Agree with this. Looked really solid - what was impressive too was how comfortable he looks on his left foot was using it more than his right! Zouma was my MOTM and I don't think it's a coincidence that it came with him moving to the RCB position with Kehrer able to fill the left sided slot - always good when you ca...

Scamacca looks mustard. Kehrer looks very good in a back 3. Coufal offering much more from RWB than Johnson. Less said about the rest, the better. It's only been 45 minutes but I can't see what Emerson offers from LWB that he couldn't from LB. Fornals struggling to play that killer pass, looking fo...

Feel for Downes, I really do.
It sounds like Moyes thinks he's not been good enough in training so far - hard to feel sorry for him if so

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2021/feature-the-turnaround-of-lucas-paqueta/ This is very interesting - with Moyes mentioning yesterday he can play as an 8 (or 10 or false 9) it makes me wonder if the plan if he signed would be a 4-3-3 for more midfield presence with Rice and either Fornals ...
