Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

Also heard Jack Butland was being put back into contention by the media, I don't watch him so wouldn't know. Dean Henderson is getting games as well. I don't know what it is but I've never been convinced by Pickford. When I say that I get shot down with the inevitable 'he's never let England down' a...

Re: Israel

I must admit to being terrified of the thought that nuclear devices could be deployed, because any deployment, no matter how small would 'normalise' its use in the modern era and that and would basically give Putin the green light in Ukraine. It could start with a matchbox size deployment to take ou...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

Isak has pace and can dribble. Entirely different profile to Scamacca. Also twice the player. I agree. But I was making a comment about our style and the type of player that would fit. Don’t get me wrong, would love an Isak or even a Scamacca here, but while we play most of a game without the ball ...

Wouldn’t work here. We had Scamacca who barely lasted a year without the ball. We’d be better looking at Bryan Mbuemo imo, but probably too expensive for what he is.

Re: Premier League: Financial Reports (2022/2023)

We have huge untapped potential imo. I use financial indicators as a proxy to assess whether we are punching our weight, and I think we are at the moment (notwithstanding variations in form within a season). I think our 'level' is to be challenging among the best of the rest, i.e. 7th - 8th position...

Re: Other games 16th & 17th March

How can the correct decision not be the right decision? The 2nd part is exactly my point. The ref shouldn't have had a choice in our game, but he made it and its complete and utter b*llocks. So Diallo gets let off, then scores a winner in the semi? When the right decision being applied would have p...

Re: Other games 16th & 17th March

Footballs gone mad sending the young lad off for scoring a last minute winner against Liverpool in an fa cup quarter. Lads probably been dreaming of that moment and working his ass off, making all sorts of sacrifices to get there only to be walloped by a rule book some suit has made up.

Re: Formula1

Just shows the intellectual capacity of the average new F1 'fan'. If Massa's case gets anywhere (it won't), then Verstappen could very well end up with one fewer championship. If anything, Hamilton's case is far stronger. Last weekend was the first time I can recall choosing to do something else rat...

Re: The Jury System

I think the professional facilitator proposed above is an excellent idea - if there could be a way to ensure that there is no undue influence, it seems impossible to find a perfect system. When I was foreman I did a quick round table - we were about 8-2 with a couple undecided. Due to my work I am g...

Re: Premier League sack race

The style you are seeing from Luton has pretty much been their default since Nathan Jones. Just took them a few games to shake off the dazzle from the bright lights of the premier league and now they are playing to type. Rob Edwards has evolved them though, he is more tactically savvy than Jones, ha...
