Massive error by Moyes not to have got a suitable understudy in the last two years. Pretty basic stuff.

Rooney was in a different tier to Gerrard. At his best Rooney was on the level of the Zidane, Messi types.
So was Gerrard, at his best IMO.

Two years so far to find a striker who knows if and when an adequate replacement for Rice could take to the pitch.
Why do we keep saying two years now? It's been one year.

Re: Have GSB delivered (albeit late)

I think its important to remember that the question isn't do you forgive them, but have they delivered. In my opinion, yes they've delivered. It's always difficult losing a home in The Boleyn Ground, but we've been in European competition (even qualifiers I'm including) more than we have consistentl...

How do I come to that conclusion? I watch him play and pay no attention to stats.

Antonio should have missed the Norwich game
Maybe, but what if we failed to score vs Norwich as a result of it?

Agree, if they just outlined some sort of 10 key point plan that would go down really well :crylol: :winker:

b*llocks to that Judas ****.
It's been 20 years - I would take him back on a short term deal tbh if Moyes doesn't find the right target and/or they're not available until summer.

He's not scoring as many nor assisting as many, but I still feel like he is a major factor in how many goals we score, with his presence.

"We've been trying probably to get someone who we think can give us competition for Mic for two years. It's certainly not an easy thing to do, buying a centre-forward. This club has probably brought in more centre-forwards than anybody, many of them expensive and it has been hard to get them t...

Re: Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

I’m going to spoil the party. He’s really got to score more. Should have had 5 tonight and he does miss a fair few chances. If he finished a tiny bit better, he’d be on 20 goals already. Agree with this, but he is contributing more than most strikers/creative players we've had in quite some time an...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

I think Origi looks like an OK choice as back up but does that mean we are just looking for another striker next season as Antonio is 32 in March. Not necessarily next season, remembering that its a backup striker, a 33/34 year old Antonio would likely be fine in that role. It's kicking the can dow...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Agreed, and he is still only mid twenties. In the column against, however, is his lack of goals and appearances in the prem. Nine prem appearances last season and zero goals. The season before he had 28 appearances and 4 goals. Ding ding ding. It's been many pages since Origi's goals per appearance...

I'd take Diego Godin until the end of the season, aged 35 he's just a couple of years younger than Digne.

Re: Michail Antonio

Take away sentiment and claret and blue specs and this deal is ridiculous. 32 year old, declining, injury prone striker gets 3 1/2 year contract on crazy money. Is Newman part of contract negotiations? If yes, wow. Take away false facts and rubbish opinions and this post makes sense. Michail is 31....

Re: Michail Antonio

I swear some of our lot expect absolute loyalty from players yet the second we give someone who's been a loyal servant to this club a reward that maybe pays them a bit extra for a year than is optimal, we throw an absolute fit. Happy for Mic. Happy for Winston Reid. Happy for Noble. You be good to W...

Apologies if this has already been mentioned: I hear your guys are looking at possible recruitment of Lucas Digne from Everton. As an Everton supporter, I say go for it. Yes I think we're all pretty aware he isnt as good as Declan Rice to be fair!
