Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

We go hard from the 1st minute, try and get an early goal before they have chance to settle and establish control. If we score first it will cast some doubt in their minds and then with the fans behind our boys it is all to play for. These European ties have a habit of throwing up surprises as does ...

Re: Midweek games

19 goals in these two ties over 2 legs - shows just how offensive the game has become. When I was a lad defences were on top and a 1 nil over 2 legs was not unusual

Re: Midweek games

I thought you couldn't give a penalty and get a red. Aruajo is off. Free kick, not a penalty. The law states: "Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick,...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

His stats at Man City were really mediocre - I certainly wasn't sold on him because of that. Look at how long it took Foden before he became a regular starter. I was really surprised Pep let him go, his stats may not have been great but he always looked brilliant on the ball. I think we would have ...

Moyes usually comes up trumps when he is written off and his job is on the line - let's hope for more of the same on Thursday.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

As much as I might question Moyes tactics at our home stadium (Parc de Bus), I think we were spot on tonight. Alas, like many before us we fell short when we were in touching distance of a draw. If that is 43 games without defeat, they have earnt the Neverkusen title

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

As much as the late second was a heartbreaker and, resigned as we all are to the inevitable at the moment, the simple fact is that if we score one in the first ten minutes at the LS, it's very much game on again. That's just a fact. Now, whether we WILL score one in the first ten minutes, that's no...
