as for the game a draw would be a good result. we need 4 points from the next two games.

Re: The kids are all right
Enlighten me please. What is a promising 20yo academy defender supposed to do in League 1 that qualifies him to be considered PL standard? I would say he couldn't, it's more or less the kiss of death. They could make 43 appearances for Bolton, scoring 5 and assisting 4. But maybe that just works fo...

Re: England -v- Brazil & then -v- Belgium
I think Toney’s the better alternative to Watkins to be honest. That arrogance is very useful at this level If Kane was out for the tournament though we should play Bellingham there The issue is Southgate plays Kane for 90 minutes in every single game so when he's injured we just don't know what to...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
I think people are being very optimistic that we'll benefit from Chelsea's woes. It's more likely they'll sell off their rubbish to teams like Fulham.
If any of their worthwhile players are available on the cheap they'll end up at another top 6 club.

What is sad is seeing the rumours that Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are going to be forced to sell players to comply with FFP.
Patiently waiting for Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Man Utd having to do the same?

I think Gibbs-White would be a fantastic signing, my fear is that if he were to be available one of the Sky 6 would take him.
He's home grown and proven, perfect for their benches whilst the rest of us scramble around adhering to financial rules.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)
It has to be Kane. The remaining place is Bowen v Saka and a good case can be made for both. Come the Euros I think Palmer will be in the mix Kane is clearly a superb player, one of the best goal scorers in the world, but Bellingham is playing brilliantly in that forward position for Real Madrid be...

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)
Bowen unfortunately is at best 3rd choice RW. But probably finds himself 4th. LW we still don't have a preferred option. Foden plays right and Central primarily for Southgate. Can't say I'm surprised Southgate is trying a genuine LW who had had a good season. So for me the choice was Foden or Bowen...

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)
I doubt Foden is subbing for Saka, he'd have started on the left if Saka was fit. So Gordon has come in, he's not been as good this season as Bowen and Bowen has been in more squads and left on the bench every time.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)
I think it is great he is in the squad. He is better than any other alternatives. It isn't as though the England management would only have just known about him. He was earmarked as one to watch ages ago Better him than Henderson He wouldn't be in the squad if he had the exact season for us, or Wol...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Opinions. Weren't you apoplectic last summer that anyone would consider wanting to sign Toney :chin: Signing Toney is also, extremely unrealistic. If you genuinely think we'd have a chance of taking Newcastle's record signing off of them I don't know what to say. You'll just get very disappointed w...

Us signing Isak is absolute fantasy land stuff.
He cost Newcastle £65m before he was proven in the Premier League, and we're basically a step down let alone a sideways step.

Another two goals for Haji Wright, this time off the bench for USA against Jamaica.
