Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

HE ALMOST ****ing DID IT! WHEN, VLAD, WHEN? The final in Dublin. West Ham 0, Liverpool 0. 96th minute. Bowen takes a shot, blocked, falls to Coufal just inside the box. He strikes it. It ripples the net top left corner. West Ham fans silent for a second. Coufal runs to the corner. Bedlam ensues. Be...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

Well at least we're starting to see some consistency with refs. No penalties to be given for West Ham in injury time no matter how clear and obvious the infraction. Sheff Utd away, Frieburg away, Burnley home. They are very consistent! :swear:

Half time against the bottom team. Total shots, 3. On target, 0. Expected goals 0.08. We're at home.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Time rolls on. The new generations coming through will have no memory of Upton Park. Many much younger than me reminisce for the Meccano Upton Park with it's Micky Mouse Turrets and all seater stands. I reminisce for the 80s Upton Park with North Bank, South Bank and old West Stand and never really ...

Re: 1st game with children

Good to hear, I'm coming over from Belfast on Sunday for the Burnley match with my daughter, so great suggestions on here. How long before kick off can u go get your seat? And can u hang around while the crowds disperse and grab a drink or anything?? I think they open the turnstyles a good 90 mins ...

Re: Premier League sack race

I've got a lot of respect for Everton, and they'll come straight up, but I wouldn't mind them going down for a season and rebuilding. Not so sure about that. If they go down there's a very real possibility they go bust (which, as much as I dislike them, I wouldn't wish that on them). At best I thin...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

No, there's only 1 ECL place for England, and that's theoretically for the winners of the league cup. But because the league cup is always won by one of the 'big' teams, it always goes to the league. In theory England gets: 4 CL places - all for the league 2 EL places - one league, one FA cup winne...

Re: 1st game with children

Check if there are any tickets available for the London Stadium match day tour. I did this with my kids a few years back - it was great to see the dressing rooms, walk out on the pitch etc just a few hours before the game started - really felt the buzz of it being match day.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Payet the better player. Possibly the most talented player to ever play for the club. Different roles, Payet tasked more with direct contributions to G+A playing higher up the pitch as well as taking set pieces. Paqueta is asked to shoulder a different load, plays deeper, is often the pass before t...

I was at University at Newcastle then and I remember heading to the game with a stinking hangover having been to a party the night before. I actually got rather lucky at the party and never even made it home to my own bed (those were the days!). I never made it down to Upton Park to see the scarves ...

I wonder how many of the stewarding and catering staff have other jobs? The vast majority I would think. I expect the companies who run it will be sourcing anyone for the day. Despite us thinking it's not possible, stewarding and catering to be even worse than normal. Have to get there extra early t...

Re: The kids are all right

Liverpool also train and develop their youth players the way the first team plays. So there’s a lot of streamlined effort. Not sure it's 100% compareable to the way we as a club function unfortunately. This is key. Our kids play a completely different style to the first team, so youngsters who have...

And against Spurs! Playing for a club his family have supported for generations and scoring against bitter rivals as a teenager in your first ever game. It really doesn't get any better than that!
