Re: Top Reds

Then there's the emotional pull to spend the matchday time with the kids instead. For me each match takes about 5-6 hours out of the house when factoring travel, the game and meeting up with friends beforehand. I do sometimes feel guilty for leaving the kids behind (they do on rare occasion's come ...

Re: Top Reds

I actually get why people from other countries support Man Utd. Two good friends of mine are originally from South Africa and Ireland and they both support Man Utd (and in fairness they do get to Old Trafford a few times per season). If you're in South Africa and you're going to support a team, I un...

Re: Top Reds

I presented it to him as a present from one football fan to another. He made all the excuses in the world why he couldn't go ( even though I paid for the ticket ). As a season ticket holder who lives a good 90 mins journey from the ground, it would be very easy to forgo a trip to the London Stadium...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Leeds Utd: match thread

Diop overall, not great. Blaming him for the goals and making him out to be a worse than the others is not right. Haven't dissected the game, having been at the stadium and not having the benefit of replays, so can't say whether Diop was at fault for any goals directly. However, having seen him in ...

Masuaku, the Schrodinger's cat of football. He's somehow both underrated and overrated at the same time!

The question much like his tenure towards his later Everton days was if he could move the club beyond where we are now.
Does he need to? If he keeps us a regular top 6-8 team and some good cup runs that's success enough for me. Let's not be like entitled Arsenal or Spurs fans.

For the reported fee, we should certainly be considering Cabral this window, should we not?
I believe the issue with Cabral is that we won't be able to get a work permit. No international appearances.

Re: Hypothetical: If The Champions League was a knockout competition from the start?

Seeing Forest knock out Liverpool in the 1st round was amazing and unfortunately something we will never see again. It's those games that the supposed big teams want to eradicate to ensure they have a healthy revenue stream at the expense of all others. Those clubs want to see the Champions League r...

Re: Michail Antonio

Antonio moving to Manchester!?! Antonio's family home has been up there for years - way before he signed for us. He decided he wanted stability for his kids at school and didn't want to be uprooting his family every time he changed clubs. He has a flat in Wapping, but also has a driver and a specia...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

But Moyes can't unlock any potential in Diop, so why would he be able to with Jones? Defence is poor, reserve players or not. Moyes is known as a defensive manager. Why is he not able to improve certain defenders? Why are people happy for him to sell Diop at a loss rather than improve him to at lea...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Yes, but that isn't a reason not to do it. We signed a bloke on loan from Watford last year who quickly pushed Diop down the pecking order, so I am happy to place some faith in the management team to be able to do so. I'd love to have the same faith, but here we are a year down the line and still h...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

There is a reason we would be selling Diop for a loss. Can you work out what it is? Selling him at a loss is not the problem, what we paid and his performances have been the problem. I was trying to make a different point (badly it would seem! ) I don't have an issue with selling him for a l...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Those saying "let's sell Diop for a loss and replace him" sound very similar to those who said "let's sell Haller for a loss and replace him".
That one worked out well!

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace vs West Ham Utd: match thread

How can someone as big as Diop lose so many headers? Can't recall him winning a single ball in the air. His timing in the jump is horrific. And don't get me started on the free kick he gave away.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Interesting post that. Yes, it's not the easiest ground to get to, whichever direction you are travelling from, but it must be an absolute pig for fans of Northern teams, apart from Man Utd's, that is. It's just a short bus ride for them Easiest Premier League ground for me to get to. Takes me only...

What the f*ck is wrong with Cresswell?
It's been well publicised. Chipped bone in his back. Because it's a strange injury it's difficult to put a time - simply need to wait for pain to go. Estimated 6-12 weeks.

And in 2 days time we have a fully rested Watford to play.
I'm guessing Watford won't be asking for this one to be called off.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Southampton: match thread

Foul was outside the box. Both players stumbling following the foul and fall into each other inside the box.
Should have been a free kick. Could have been a red for Dawson, but not a penalty.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Southampton: match thread

Ironically, despite our defensive injuries, our defence isn't the problem. Our forward players are desperately out of form. Benrahma and Fornals have been awful, and playing Bowen as a striker is just not his natural game. We need to bring on Antonio for Benrahma at half time, let Bowen play his nat...

I guess we will hear soon if its on . might not be a bad thing for it to be off as they looked good last night, even dele ali !
