Re: Andy Carroll

For me it’s not about money. It’s about taking up a place in the squad with someone who ultimately you have to plan your season around NOT being fit because it would be reckless to assume otherwise. Thanks but goodbye.

Hodgson has just said they’re appealing Zaha’s ban, so he will play tomorrow.

Re: Burnley Sunday 30 December 2.15pm KO - Why?

Assume it's for foreign telly reasons, so they can show games back-to-back. Same thing happens on Sundays where a game has been moved because of Europa League and isn't being televised - it'll kick off at same time as one of the Sky games.

I tried an hour ago and none were available - tried again just now and bought two easily!

At least Feghouli has had a go. More than I can say for most of them.

Re: Leicester City v West Ham Utd: match thread

Game changed on the Carroll substitution. Moses had been giving their left-back a nightmare all evening on the wing, but offered nothing once he was put in the middle. Without Carroll to hold the ball up, we didn't retain possession and the ball just kept coming back.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread

Don't get the Poyet loan at all. For me, he's shown more than enough so far this season to prove he's worth a place in the first-team squad. We're only an injury or two away from needing him.

Re: FC Astra Giurgiu v West Ham United: Match Thread

Ultimately I'd have liked us to have taken this tournament more seriously, but based on the attitude we've shown so far, we're better off out of it.

Surely that has to be Maiga's last appearance in a West Ham shirt?

Re: West Ham Utd v Birkirkara (1st leg): match thread

Jarvis is so one-dimensional these days it's hard to believe. Last night's performance is as good as you're ever going to get from him, in as much as he will jink this way and that until he can float a cross into the box. If Carroll or Sakho had been playing last night, that would have been fine, bu...

Re: Ideal ins and out's in the summer? (Realistic(ish) only)

Sky reckon Behrami is likely to sign for Watford. He'd be a good player for them, shame we didn't keep him for longer.

Re: Ideal ins and out's in the summer? (Realistic(ish) only)

A crude Google translation of a post by Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio: "Angelo Ogbonna is ready to greet the Juventus. We told the likely departure of the player with the direction of the Premier League and the news today is that the defender chose West Ham. Negotiations in the home s...

Mirror reporting Sunderland have agreed a Jenkinson loan deal. Would be disappointed to see us lose out.

Ancelotti the obvious (but unrealistic) frontrunner for me. Bielsa my preferred option from the more likely candidates.

Re: Andy Carroll having op and maybe out for rest of season

The moment I thought it had all clicked for us this season was Swansea at home. Carroll started and scored twice, then set up Sakho who had come on second half. Thought at the time if we kept those two fit as a front pair they'd be lethal. Alas, it was never to be, but I always think we're a far bet...

Re: Manchester City Vs West Ham United match thread

Lost count of the amount of times Allardyce has subbed his target man striker off and brought Jarvis on at the same time. Baffling lack of logic.

Re: Manchester City Vs West Ham United match thread

Alan Parry is truly a dismal commentator. Screaming "IS IT OVER THE LINE?" while Aguero has the ball in his hands in the back of the net.

Re: Manchester City Vs West Ham United match thread

Really sloppy start. Basic errors mean we're giving the ball straight back to them.
