Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

It is the whole Prem set up that is wrong. Too many teams, need to reduce to 18. Too many cups, too many international breaks. Etc, etc. In order to compete then any squad needs to be able to rotate. A 25 man squad with 3 or 4 different players each and every game. That means serious money which 14 ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Five ENGLISH teams remain in Europe for the last eight, quarter finals.

And we are one of those 5.

Not bad eh, for a tin pot outfit from East London.

Proud of our club that we got this far.

Anything more will be a bonus.

Re: Fixtures March 29th- 4th April

Check out Garth Crooks team of the week.

He has come up with a new formation od 3 2 2 2 1 in order to accommodate Rice on Left wing and DeBruyne on Right wing.

What a clown.

Don't need for MOTD for Linekers VAR criticism. He has already had his say on his own podcast thingy.

Robbie Savage made an interesting point

"Why make substitutions when the team on the pitch are doing nothing wrong?"

Good lad, that Robbie.

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

When you have sections of the media praising Gordon for his “clever” play to create the situation then I honestly wonder why I bother. Week in week out you hear the same old flannel about “clever” players drawing fouls, or teams rotating the foul to not get bookings. It is cheating. Clever cheating...

Re: VAR 2023/24

If VAR was used ONLY IF the referee asked for it then, I think, it would be more meaningful. For instance, if a ref was blindsided from an event ot there was a mely in the goalmouth. Then the ref could request a review. What is spoiling the game is VAR refs stepping in multiple times during a game a...

For some reason , I suddenly have Freiburg travel pod casts popping up on YouTube!

That does look like a stunning place.

The West Ham faithful will have a great time there.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Just looking back on team line ups from December 2023 winning sides.

Sometimes Dinos and Oggie, sometimes Capt Kurt and Aguerd.

Midfield also varied.

Looks like the only absentee from then is Paqueta.

Surely one player cannot make that much difference.

Re: January transfer window

I don't see Phillips coming in as a case of "which one gets dropped". It just means we have the option of rotating the squad a bit, particularly when Europe starts up again. If a player is out of form/not 100%/banned/doesn't suit the game plan, we'll now have options, rather than flogging...
