Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

In my defense, I didn't tell him he's an annoying troll this time! No problem with your posts to me mate. You're a fan who sees the good and maybe, not sure, but I may see the bad before the good. May be an age thing. I'm a fan from the 80's and struggle to recincile West Ham now with the Wsst Ham ...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

They’re on loan. We’re taking a detailed look at them. It is the sensible alternative to ‘just signing anyone that’s available’ when we can’t get in our primary target. To complain about deals like this is completely ridiculous. Even then, Areola has been an outstanding bit of business given his pe...

Re: Issa Diop

Not Diops biggest fan but, can anyone tell me a defender who has improved defensively over the last 12 months? To my eyes, Coufal, Diop, Dawson, Cresswell are all going backwards defensively. Should the coaching of them defensively not be questioned?

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

If they are the right player and it takes that long for them to adapt then yes. I believe we were seriously interested in Daka, did he start immediately at Leicester. Indeed only now due to the Vardy injury. As I say a considered approach is the right way. I accept others such as yourself might not...

So, Moyes is so forward thinking that if he buys a CF or CH now, we shouldn't expect them to have more than 20% playing time in the first 12 months.

Gsbgsb wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:49 pm Yep makes a very pleasant change from the cannot get “X” (Gomez) so we will sign Haller instead (despite him being so totally unsuited to the team) approach that worked so well.
You mean well researched signings who make a difference like Kral? Areola? Vlasic? Our new system is working a treat.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Not for me if they are adopting the right player above the “anybody” approach which seemed to epitomise the time when Sullivan was in control. I accept however you might prefer and support that approach. Sold Haller over a year ago and Moyes said he had the budget for a striker. Still no signing af...

NWhammer wrote: Thu Jan 20, 2022 1:19 pm Can we afford to get another striker signing wrong?

I think that is why we haven't got one in.
Scared of making a wrong signing so make no signing. I don't think that is progression.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

Such a Sullivan approach, cannot get the first choice, 2nd choice etc but the 15th choice is the first available so sign him no matter what the long term damage at least we have signed someone. I feel some people look for confirmation bias regarding Sullivan. No signings, must be Sullivans fault. H...

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window

It’s pretty disgusting that we entered this window with three of our four first choice defenders injured - two of which we need to replace sooner rather than later anyway - and only one striker on the whole squad and we’re still yet to make a signing for 20th January. It’s poor from the recruitment...

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

It's a clever method of trolling. Find an opinion that's spotted around the forum, say, Antonio being too big for his boots or Moyes not being that great a manager. Go over the top with trolling comments to that end, then when pushed copy and paste the opinions you formed your trolls around from th...

Attacking midfielders are not required but right back? If a decent one becomes available I'd think of upgrading. Successful teams don't settle and continually upgrade players.

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

You mean you managed to find some negative comments about a player that wasn't ours on a match thread after a loss? That's astounding detective work, however did you manage it Sherlock? What game was it, Everton at home where they had our number and the entire team looked poor? If you read tge post...

The fact that those opinions were expressed doesn't mean I have to now change mine, irrespective of what you're implying about short memories. The next frankly simple fact is that he got close to 1 goal every 2 matches; his arrival gave the whole team new impetus. He was on loan and massively excee...

Do you rate any of our players? Yep. We have some quality and our average players are mostly better than our average players from years gone by. Do I think fans are over rating some players? yes. Rice best player in many a year. Fabianski best goalkeeper inn many a year. lanzini quality footballer....

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

He was available - i.e. not injured - for perhaps 20 games (give or take) and was unavailable for one of the cup matches, given the opponent. He scored 9. He won more than one penalty. He had a handful of assists. Among a crowded field of other great performers, he was probably MotM more than once....

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

it's forgotten that his time here also was extremely lopsided and for the second half he was largely ineffective, but never substituted or dropped in spite of it. Hallelujah. An unbiased opinion. Second half of his loan he was lazy, ineffective and petulant. Very much to type throughout his career....

Re: ⚽ Manchester Utd vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Lingard plays and scores before moving to Newcastle and sending a few on here crazy. He's a player , in both senses of the word. Putting the West Ham post on Instagram recently was just a cynical move by him to keep his name in the media and relevant. I don't know if the Lingard lovers who were out...
