Wait, Whoscored “isn’t accurate”? How so?

Phillips was our worst player today according to Whoscored. That seems about right to me. Miles off the pace or just not good enough? I don’t know, but he’s about half the player Alvarez is.

Re: Tim Steidten - How should we assess his contribution?

Obviously the transfer never went through but just how complicated would signing Jota have been ? Do I know and understand all the tax implications? No . Surely an accountant would have been able to put it in simple terms ? I'm guessing for 'complicated' read ' too expensive ' Too expensive for the...

Faded a bit in the second half, but thought he was doing alright until his second yellow. A notable improvement over his previous appearances.

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

Bit of a difference in the calibre of opposition though. For me, Aguerd is the problem. He is far too casual and lacks the dedication needed for this league. Give me a Tarkowski or Maguire type any day. Aguerd would be better suited to Ligue 1 imo. Yeah, I kind of agree actually. Although maybe if ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

It's not about bringing details up and yeah, 80% would be lip-service, but if you to build some trust, you simply do not keep shtum. There are several examples of clubs and their directors explaining signings and club-decisions in detail. Brentford were/are good at it. At least last season. Clubs i...

I can pretty much guarantee they will have a contractual obligation not to criticise their employer. Any positive comments they make are down to their professionalism, they know divided teams fail. The problem is, nobody is buying it. The veneer is too thin. When my mate was there he had that exact...

Clean sheet vs Blunts, Olympiakos, Backa Topola, Friedburg, Wolves with him though. So... dunno.

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

I think results like yesterday could be a knock on effect of us suffering from a multitude of problems that, if limited to one or two, wouldn't be so impactful. Lots of games / knackered players due to Europe etc Old squad Light squad Injuries (or injury) to key player(s) Kids not being played / not...

Re: Declan Rice

Clapping a player like Collins when he returned with Villa - fine. Clapping a player who was actively looking for the exit and making kissy faces at another team before the season even ended - a bit… off. Might’ve been a bit different if we’d been relegated I guess. Equally can’t be done with the bo...

Unless you're part of the elite, it's become a bit of a cycle. Managers have good times, bad times and you tend to change. Try and hope you get some good and try and hope the same happens with the next appointment. I doubt we have any plan at all, so whatever we do is going to be hit and hope. I ha...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Why is that the logical way of doing it? Why do we have to accept writing off the season in February exactly? You do one or the other to try and stop that from happening. If he was worthy of the extension at Christmas, get it done. If he wasn't, then put an end to it now. If we're going to just giv...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Sacking him now would be as crazy as offering him a new contract now. The club have missed the chance to give him a new contract (last summer), doing it now would be mad. Like it or not, he should have to wait until the end of the season. Sacking him now would likely mean we end up with Potter, who ...

I don't totally buy the "not as many fans" or "loads of tourists" stuff. I've been to Arsenal and Spurs in amongst the home fans, and it's no different. Arsenal worse if anything. Getting back to the train from the Spurs games is enormously more painful than it is at our place as...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think I've said it before and I'll say it again. Moyes is Sulli's best mate, never complains and gets on with given what he is given. The board won't have any appetite to sack him or replace him whilst he is keeping us in Europe and/or maintains a decent league position. The fans aren't going awa...

i don't find it odd that some people want moyes to stay on, but i find it disingenuous that they can't even entertain why some want to move on and start throwing out words like "entitlement". Spot on. I don't think it's entitlement to, for example, expect us to set up differently vs Fores...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I can understand the arguments for both keeping him and replacing him in the summer, but i think how we actually end up doing this season should be factored into the decision (both in regards to League and how we do in the ECL) - so would wait until the end of the season Yes, I agree. Now seems the...
