Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The lack of transfers in January was nothing but a move to force Moyes out. Between injuries, a disastrous Phillips loan, suspension and a Brazilian child throwing tantrums, last Thursday was clearly a bridge too far. I think Moyes finally gave up today. He is done, forced out by the Dwarf and the u...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

I was actually quite disppointed by Leverkusen. I genuinely expected them to be better than they were last Thursday. I avtually thought they looked pretty clueless really and really get at them and I think they will crack I agree, not so much that they were bad, but I did feel that if we had our st...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

This lot can be beaten if we go at them. Their centre backs are almost as slow as ours. If it remains 0-0 with 15 to go, watch us go for it and try to win it.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

High profile game where we are back to the wall against an over-confident opponent from a mildly inferior league. This is exactly the sort of game where Antonio the beast shows up. And when that happens, anything can happen. I am looking forward to a dogged, disciplined and clinical performance from...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

They have pretty much wrapped up their league title and therefore will not be distracted by it. In other words, they will be fully focused on beating us. To expected anything else is deluded. They are a very good side. We are missing two of our most important players and will have to play out of our...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

One could (at best) argue that Antonio should have been replaced by Ings rather than Johnson, but hooking a tired Antonio was absolutely the right decision. Further, Villa changed half their team and played better in the second half. Yet some talk as if it is all Moyes's fault and Villa don't deserv...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Moyes obviously incensed at the end. But I don't understand why he has never made a stink despite numerous reffing and VAR ineptitude. What's the worst that can happen? He gets fined? Public pressure needs to be applied to increasingly poor officiating in the game. The best that can be said is that ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

If it needed 6 minutes for VAR only to be inconclusive, then it wasn't clear and obvious. The end. The entire VAR system needs to be scrapped or re-calibrated. It's a sham.

Less said of the ref the better.

Incompetent idiot.

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

Alonso, the fashionable uber manager on top of most people's wish list to replace / succeed Moyes. For that reason alone, I expect Moyes to give the young man a black eye.

Moyes vs Alonso.

I like this draw.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

Ings's offside goal wasn't off side was it? Didn't look like it was.

And that was handball, surely. He pretty much caught the damn ball.

I give up.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I guess it is kind of like the defensive approach in basketball. We tend to mark space and leave as little room for the opposition to make progress in dangerous areas as possible. Precisely. Zona mista. Cover and deny space. Systemic efficiency over individual flair. Be fitter and tougher if you ca...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

That’s the nagging doubt which says we move on and we just end up back here in 12/24/36 months. Is it just the lot of a club outside the big six? Sustainable success for all but the oil state clubs has to depend on good scouting and youth systems. As far as I can tell, both are in early stages of b...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I was one of very few who spoke for Moyes when he first came and have largely remained steadfast in my belief that he is a good fit for us. I did waver last season but have come to realise that for all his flaws he remains a good fit for us. Despite spells of hard to watch football, he has delivered...

Re: January transfer window

My issue is that we shouldn't be panic buying, there should be lists upon lists of players we are identifying and monitoring ahead of every window, and then signing them either before or during it. That we regularly come up against the same excuses is beyond frustrating. Don't disagree that it is f...

Re: January transfer window

In football transfers and in life, if only it were as simple as "we want therefore we get". It was clear that Osman was top target for the LW position (for his potential). Turns out he has major representation issues, serious enough to alarm the local FA. This wasn't a made up excuse but p...

Re: January transfer window

Selling Benrahma and Fornals will make us one of the only clubs in the league to be clear of FFP restrictions. I cant help but think we are going to 'try' and make a big splash in this window. I reckon we are readying ourselves for the summer window. That'd give it another 4 months for the FFP rule...

Re: January transfer window

Both Benny and Fornals contributed to our recent successes but we have frankly outgrown them. Neither are top 6 level and would do much better in a less physical and speedy league.

I will miss Fornals.

Good luck to both.

If the deal is defo dead he wouldn't be posting that. It means eyes are still on it but time is running out. Someone will probably blink first and it won't be us.

Re: January transfer window

We've (almost) snapped up Osman who we liked enough to commit to now and not risk losing to another team. Outside of that, the plan has clearly been to strengthen without committing. We clearly want the majority of our funds to play with in the summer. I expect Jack Clarke, Rowe, Keita, Gimenez, et...
