Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

I think it's interesting that we haven't made a move for Everton-bound Fabian Delph. In many ways he ticks a few boxes: versatile, English, central midfielder, and at £10m well within our usual price bracket. The fact that we're not going for him gives me some optimism that our strategy is now based...

Re: The summer transfer window 2019 thread

So the team negotiating on our behalf manage to strike a deal at what, double what another team was willing to pay, yet still couldn't get the deal done? Failure on such a scale is extraordinary. Even with our director of football in place, there are shades of the Carvalho fiasco here. We've upset t...

Re: In The Name of God.....Go

According to the amateur propaganda mouthpiece whose real name I refuse to use as they don't deserve more publicity, "The next level" has now been declared as avoiding relegation worries each season. So there we go, all of the conspiracy theories confirmed. They've even got some of their cronies to ...

Re: How much would it cost to improve our injury situation?

Well, they had clearly identified the issue and decided on a change of medical staff. So who did they go and get? Gary Lewin from Arsenal, the only club with a worse injury list than ours...

Re: How much would it cost to improve our injury situation?

The link posted by Penfold was as interesting as it was inconclusive. The stand-out points for me are that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are towards the top in suffering from injuries when surely they have excellent training and medical facilities. Man City are second from bottom of that list s...

How much would it cost to improve our injury situation?

Not sure if there's already a thread on this and apologies if there is. It just occurs to me that for as long as I can remember, our injury list has been the biggest issue holding us back on the field. Right now, if all of our squad was fit we'd be able to rotate every position with a pretty decent ...

So clearly talented and worked so hard to earn that job, literally asked his mum. The women must be thrilled to know they're in such capable hands.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Tottenham Hotspur: match thread (20/10)

Very upsetting defeat. We deserved much more than we got. The league table doesn't show it but we're gradually developing into a good side. Issa Diop's performance today was outstanding. Blow to lose Yarmolenko but Diangana showed he can step in and do a job. Looking threadbare in central midfield w...

I quite like the home shirt and I don't mind the predominantly claret sleeves. We have our traditional home shirt of claret body and blue sleeves so there's only so much you can do to freshen up the look each year to make it different enough from last year's effort so that people will want to buy th...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 21 days remaining

Fans from other leagues must think the Premier League is a joke when they see Richarlison going for that kind of money. When you look at English club's results on the pitch and generally the way our clubs get outplayed against "cheaper" opposition in Europe it does make you wonder what's going on. I...

I was wondering this myself but haven't seen any goals from free kicks from the various Youtube videos. I did see him lining up a corner on one of them but that was about it I think.

Would be good to know who's likely to be our dead-ball specialist next season.

This is indeed a big statement from us, not typical West Ham at all. Looks like our welcome video team even upped their game for this one too. Quality stuff all round and it really feels like there's a buzz about us at the moment. 7 signings in the bag now. Attacking midfield department completely t...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 28 days remaining

Talking of transfers that have dragged on surely none of ours this summer compare to the Jorginho situation. Nailed on to go to Man City even before last season finished, been "close" or about to happen "within 48 hours" at least once a week all summer long and now he's probably off to Chelsea. If i...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 30 days remaining

Everyone that's saying Arnie will be sold to cover these incomings is making it that little bit more tempting for Sullivan to do just that. This investment is what's been needed for years since the move. The Zaza money, Payet money etc etc etc. It would be more strange if we didn't fimally splash a ...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 32 days remaining

If we can get Yarmolenko I'll feel like we've at least done the minimum that was required. Get Anderson as well then I'll start to feel like we've really transformed the defence and midfield. Anything on top of that will be a bonus.

Great player on his day and seems like a good character too.

Hopefully his injury woes are behind him and he can fulfil his promise while giving us lots of entertainment along the way.
