Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Long post alert 🚨 My mind has recently been trying to make sense of the mess that is our squad. Here's where I've ended up... We've currently got only 21 registered senior players in the squad :shocker: . Let's look at that in more detail: Loans first... Assume we don't turn Phillips' loan into a pe...

Re: Everton FC: 10 Point Deduction Confirmed for PL FFP breach

According to the league the final date the appeals can be dealt with for the pending cases on Forest and Everton is May 24th. Which is in the week prior to the final day of the season. I guess they would like to get things sorted before that. That's the week after the final round of matches on Sund...

Same problem that Palace have - can you get the manager you really want to come in at this stage?

7th-9th

Think ManYoo may sail away into the distance making it a scrap between us, Brighton and Saudi-on-Tyne for these three places.

Agree with the poster who reckons Chelsea might just go pop over the coming months. It feels like the tension's coming to the boil there...

Re: January transfer window

I just don't understand the logic of waiting until the last day. Gives Norwich absolutely no time to find a replacement. Unless, of course, talks have been ongoing for a while and here I am giving myself hope again. Thing is, had we acted sooner, we could have offered Marshall as a makeweight in th...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

If we think a ban is incoming it may be prudent to let him go for less than his release clause. If we have any inside knowledge that a ban is likely we would have to declare that to any buying club or we'd end up being sued for a fortune. Newcastle are still looking into suing AC Milan for this re:...

Re: January transfer window

I know we’re spoiled for strikers but surely if Marshall is away on loan we’re gonna get one in ? I would have thought the opposite! If (and it's a big if) we bring in two of Osman, Nusa, Clarke and Jota then we'd have Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta, Cornet, Antonio, plus two to fill the three forward roles...

Re: Fantasy Football 2023/24

I'm planning to play a differentials-only team next season by only selecting / transfering-in players with less than 10% ownership. Should be more fun... I decided to go without Haaland after about 7 weeks this season and it's much more fun spreading the money around and being able to buy pretty muc...

How about rehashing the Payet song.

We've got Phillips, Kalvin Phillips,
I just don't think you understand.
He's Davey Moyes's man,
He's better than Declan,
We've got Kalvin Phillips...

Re: January transfer window

I think the 10 bookings applies up to the 32nd Premier League game - so at the moment last game to avoid 10th booking is up to Wolves on April 6th That's totally weird! So if you don't pick up your 10th yellow until your 33rd game there's no further ban? Still means Edson and Emerson can only get t...

Re: January transfer window

Another consideration for the second half of the season is 2 game suspensions for reaching 10 yellow cards. Álvarez currently has 7 so he's pretty much nailed on to miss two games at some point. Phillips has 0 so is highly unlikely to reach 10 in the 16 PL games he'd be available for. Paqueta has 6 ...

Re: January transfer window

Was reading they want a loan with obligation. So does that put most of the fee into next season? That sort of thing might start suiting both buyers and sellers Given that Everton tried to do the right thing by getting Richarlison's sale into the 21/22 season's books and have now been indicted again...

On Onana. Newcastle have identified Everton and Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana, 22, as a good option to bolster their ranks as concerns grow over the future of Brazil midfielder, Joelinton, 27, who is yet to agree a new deal at St James' Park. Re: January transfer window

The reason I'm keen for us to sign a striker is that it immediately allows us to move Ings out and send Mubama on loan. Could potentially allow us to sell Antonio too if there's a plan for another striker to come in in the summer. If we don't sign a striker this window then Ings and Mubama have to s...
