Re: Paul Allen & Willy Young

I must have been the only West Ham to have been pleased when Young tripped him up. I was at university and had a fiver on a 1-0 win at 10-1. The £55 win was a lot of money then (beer being 40p a pint) and me and my mate, Big Fat Paul from Dagenham and Baz blew it all celebrating. A great, great day :)

Can anyone recommend a good stream to watch the game?

Re: Are we burgundy and blue?

Seems to me after the comments made in this thread that we are now the team in Burgundy and Turquoise. Doesn't quite lend itself to a good chant. The best claret and blue reference in a chant must be the Mary Poppins 'Chim Chimery...' Trying to think of other songs mentioning our colours. Any sugges...

Are we burgundy and blue?

Just watching MOTD and our game followed by Burnley. The Burney kit reminded me our kit in the 60 and 70s which is not as deep as our current shirt. Has the colour of our shirts evolved to burgundy and blue? If so do we need to change our chants? Burgundy is a bugger of a word to rhyme with. Has our...

Who was responsible for signing Roberto?

We are landed who is now being talked about as the worst in Premiership - and that is perhaps flattering him. So who was responsible for signing him? Someone, somewhere thought he was a Pre.iership player. We've gone from having a reserve goalie who has played this season in the Champions League to ...

Re: VAR - yes or no ?

Think we need to change the offside law and make use of technology. It's ridiculous that any part of a player's body could be offside but doesn't gain any advantage from that. If we use technology where boots have electronic tags and the rule is changed to the player's feet needing to be offside we ...

Who is the youngst-looking West Ham player ever?

Seeing young Coventry come on the other night at Newport - and he looks like he's just out of nappies.

Wonder who is the youngest-looking player who's played for us?

Re: Carlos Sanchez

Thought he had a decent game at Newport standing tall and resilient at the heart of midfield.
Think he deserves particular credit for rescuing young Coventry from what could have been a career-defining or ending mistake that could have led to a goal.

A useful squad member for playing the DM role

Re: Away fans in home end

Further dilution of our Club having a 'home' that means something to its fans. Surprised the FA doesn't pick up on this. It will inevitably led to some disorder which could tarnish the image not only of West Ham but also the Premiership brand. Like mnost disasters people usually get a warning sign w...

Newport state of mind - roughest places we've played

Looking forward to visiting Newport, a place whose roughness is brilliantly captured by the Goldy Looking Chain inspired spoof 'Newport state of mind' . Check out the video - it's brilliantly funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eijc2tGe-zM I live on Barry Island - which is hardly posh, but on a ni...

Didn't we once have a museum and there was some palaver about a really expensive model boat?

Re: All-time Wales XI

We have found a goalie! And he's a real legend too - being a Welsh international but sadly killed at Passchendaele in 1917 in World War 1. Admittedly, he's before most on here's time but Fred Griffiths, 1902-4 at West Ham, it seems deserves some proper respect and remembrance. More about this incred...

Re: All-time Wales XI

Having got an all-time Wales XI - who should be the captain? Think the decision needs to be based on what they achieved at West Ham: Hartson - great season when his arrival, alongside Kitson, saved us from going down. (Although may have to factor in the Berkovic incident) Danny Gabbidon - his steadf...

Re: All-time Wales XI

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like we have a team of: 1. David Llewellyn (Not sure if he is a goalie. Listed as a midfield but will stick him in goals anyway as we are desperate) 2. Mark Bowen 5, James Collins 6. Danny Gabbidon 3. Danny Collins 4. Mark Fletcher 7. Craig Bellamy 8. Andy Melvill...
