Re: What did you watch last night?

Started Ted Lasso last night which seemed quite promising. For those not in the know, as I was until about 2 days ago, a comedy about an American Football coach comes to manage a Premier League team in England.

Apparently West Ham have a part to play in it so that'll be interesting.

Re: 2021 Game of the Year

It Takes Two for me. Sadly only available to play with 2 players, but I had the most fun with this. Been a while since I played something that enjoyable and original which kept me hooked all the way. Plenty of laughs too.

Re: Get Back - The Beatles

Just finished this last night myself. Thought it was superb television. After seeing it, I do also think that the whole 'Yoko split the Beatles' is a bit wide of the mark. It was kind of irritating how she was always right there , but she was more like a benign tumour stuck to Lennon's arm the whole...

Re: FM22

:smiler: Indeed, I never did like too much of a challenge! (a bit more would be good, though). Thankfully on the whole the entire game just seems to work quite well this year - having said that, I am just waiting for my inverted wingers to stop running to the byline, only to turn back before passin...

Re: FM22

Been enjoying this years FM. Got hooked for the first time in years. As PF. says above though, it's probably a bit too easy. I made a couple of small signings in my first season and finished 2nd, losing the title on the last day to Man Utd on goal difference playing a similar counter-attacking forma...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Succession. Am not feeling the forum love for this show, not one of the characters has a single redeeming feature. In fact, I’d like to punch the lot of the nasty bastards. Especially the dimwit husband of the sister, and the slimy cousin, and the little brother, and the dad. Mrs likes it, I think ...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Shtisel - an absolutely brilliant Israeli series on Netflix now. It's about a family of ultra-orthodox jews and their low stakes drama, but the writing and high level of acting really makes it. Sometimes the family drama and the humour reminds me of The Sopranos. Really shows these people in a new l...

Re: What are you playing right now?

Forza Horizon 5 is great. I haven't really gotten into previous entries, despite owning 2 and playing 4 on gamepass. 4 especially I thought I would love as it's based in a mashed up version of the UK, and I love cars but it didn't quite work for me. I can't stop playing FH5. It looks great, there is...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Scenes From a Marriage. 5 episode mini-series which the wife wanted to watch (red flag right there) but as it seemed well regarded, I gave it a go. Don't bother. It was the most contrived, self-indulgent drivel I have possibly ever seen, with the two most unlikeable main characters in the history of...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Couple of episodes of Maid on Netflix. A depressing and slow burning, but somehow absolutely compelling tv mini series.

Re: What makes us laugh?

Excellent selection. I reckon that episode when AJ gets his eyebrows shaved off but has to come down the stairs when his dad called him was one of the funniest single things I have ever seen on TV. Tony also once wise-cracked a joke about Johnny Sachs' missus, the punchline being 'two trips' that s...

Re: What makes us laugh?

I'll never be one for overly comedic and forced shows. MBB's just feels like it is slowly killing me. I'll always prefer dramas with moments of comedy. As with the original post, the unexpected nature of them usually catches me out. The Sopranos was great for this, everyone would be sitting around h...

Re: Sony on PC

Sounds good. I'm an Xbox player but I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn cheap on the Epic store with their deals at the time and got about 50 hours of fun out of that, obviously a Playstation exclusive I would never have touched otherwise - even though I got a bit fed up towards the end and kind of rushed...

Re: Little things that irritate you

Also GP's. I work with cancer patients in the NHS, and there has been a steady rise in the number of patients coming to A&E with horrific symptoms and saying things like "it's been getting worse for months, but I just couldn't get an appointment to see the GP!" and then turning out to ...

Re: Little things that irritate you

Not really little for me, but some **** has keyed, punched or dropped something on the bonnet of my car. Not sure when it happened, only had it 3 months, ****ing cheers. Since having conversations with a few body shops and hearing the stories from them. Absolute *****. I don't know what's the matte...

Re: FIFA 22

I've been considering it for the first time in about 15 years seeing as PES has become a bit of a sh!tshow this year. But I have been playing the 10 hour trial via Gamepass, and I just can't enjoy it consistently enough. I do think the game modes are great, and it is very flashy and the game looks g...

Re: Anyone got an Xbox One Series X ?

Ah right. I guess from your username that you're based in the Isle of Skye (lovely place, nearly went and bought a place near Earlish last year). But I am assuming you have some form of wifi? Even if it is terribly slow. I say that, as by the time notification emails come through the stock tends to ...

Re: Ive just bought a...

Which make & model did you go for? Samsung Q700A (something like that). Have a smallish living room so I was looking for something upper-mid range. It was probably still a bit much for what we have. Fell into the tech trap that all companies set us up for, in that having a Samsung TV meant that...

Soundbar and subwoofer.

It took an hour of Doom Eternal for the next door neighbours to complain
