Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24
I hated that game, including the 2nd half. All I could think was, what if we had set up this positively from the start? We would have won this game at a canter, no doubt in my mind. Burnley crumble under pressure so our original gameplan was to put them under no pressure whatsoever. Frustrating 2 po...

Re: School Plays & Stuff
I played one of the three wise men at some point and did a terrible little musical number. My overriding memory of that day is putting the costume on backstage (one of the classrooms) and the teacher telling me to be careful with the edges of the costume because it could all come undone and the whol...

Re: The next gig you're going to
Yeah, I went on Thursday - great stuff as ever. My 20th Bruce gig, and I reckon that might be the last time I see him with the E Street Band. Hope I'm wrong. My first Bruce gig and thought it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Impressive stuff for a 73 year old especially, he really puts o...

Re: Favourite West Ham match ever you were at - But that we didn't win
I think it was 2002 when we lost 5-3 at home to Man Utd immediately comes to mind. We gave it a real proper go, but Man Utd were just far too good at the time. The game was all over the place, some great goals, especially Beckhams chip over David James. I think we actually applauded both teams at th...

Re: Little things that irritate you
Got a fine the other month for stopping with the rear half of my car in a box junction. I was following a huge lorry at the time and couldn't see the traffic ahead. Only when I entered the junction did the lorry brake hard, leaving me stuck. But fair enough, maybe I should have left more room and pl...

Re: 🏆 ACF Fiorentina vs West Ham Utd: match thread (UEFA Europa Conference League Final)
I still have the feeling that watching the players lift the trophy last night was a dream, or at the very least like I was just watching someone play a video game and win a trophy playing as West Ham.

Re: Little things that irritate you
People who fly into a rage when called out on their mistake/bad behaviour. It seems increasingly common these days. Similarly, the guy yesterday on the M20 who changed lane in front of me with no indication doing about 20mph slower than me. I had to brake sharply, gave him a quick one-off flash of t...

Re: Star Trek all series appreciation thread
As someone who grew up watching TNG, and is now up to date with the penultimate episode of season 3, I am not ashamed to say - good grief, some of this season has brought a tear or two to my eye, but nothing more than this latest episode. Brilliant.

Re: Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
I was tempted but already played through twice. We reread books don't we? Interested in exactly how much new content has been added. Very little? My second playthrough I also did the expansions. Blood and Wine was great. I think besides prettier graphics and a new armour set or two there isn't much...

Re: Sim games for windows 10
Cities Skylines, as mentioned. Anno 1800 has been sitting near the top of my playlist for quite some time, though it's a bit of a time sink so maybe not for everyone. Superb though. A bit more simmy there is Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus which are both great, but I recommend Hospital. It's...

Re: Cities: Skylines 2
I picked up CS1 on PC with all it's DLC for about £13 a while back, even though I already had it on Xbox. Last I checked I have something in the region of 4 WEEKS of playtime on that game across both platforms, I can't get enough so I'll be in for CS2 on release no doubt. Would have been nice to see...

Re: Russian invasion of Ukraine
^^^ The fact that Germany has to be pressured into providing any kind of support... I'm pleased that the UK at least is generally at the forefront of sending over bigger and better toys for the Ukrainians. You can tell the Russians really, really, really hate us for it which can only mean that what ...

Re: Football Manager Series
The injury thing is just not fun. My first choice left back did his knee ligaments. I sign a replacement who plays two games and then goes out for 6 weeks with an injury. The back up then gets injured so I play a kid there who gets injured during the match! You must be playing as West Ham manager.

Re: KUMB Game of The Year 2022
How are you finding your system copes with it? I found that it struggled :crossed: I'm running with an i7 10750, GeForce 1660 and it chugged away and threatened to melt the keyboard (it's a gaming laptop, unfortunately. The wife at the time told me that I could only get a new PC if it was a laptop ...

Re: KUMB Game of The Year 2022
Been a strange year for games as nothing immediately comes to mind as the best game. There have been a lot of 'good' games but nothing outstanding. So my picks would be Plague Tale: Requiem, just because it is the most stunning game I've ever played, a real experience even if the mechanics don't alw...

Re: What are you playing right now?
I think Red Dead 2 probably deserves another shot. Restarted a leisurely new playthrough of this myself. The first time around I kind of loved it, but also I really didn't. I struggle to dedicate the time it asks for these days, but now I only sit down with it when I know I have at least a good cou...

Re: 🏆Match #39: Group C - Poland 2-0 Argentina (30/11/22, 7pm)
I was glad that the ridiculous penalty was saved (and what a save). But by the end of the game I was willing Mexico or Argentina to score again, Poland really stunk the place out. It was like they were not even bothered about the possibility of going out. If you're going to be that negative, you wou...
