Re: Premier League sack race
Yep One thought he was in charge of Man City and had their budget, the other was always living up to a club legend. To be fair those players were bought by a crazy owner, seemingly above the manager's head. (Forest). He also got promoted with a lot of loan players that had to be replaced. Sheffield...

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread
What Pearce was on about was a recurrent theme. He just droned on about all manner of crap, whilst Danny The Silent Gabbidon stood by. He seemed to mention every ex-Bristol City player from the year dot...Never heard of 'Joe Dyer', he said he played in the 70's. Danny G wasn't much better when he d...

Re: The Avondale FC 1922-23 (Non West Ham)
Hi, I spoke to a football historian i know. They played in the Barnet and District league, but he's not sure whether they made it to the 60's. He suggests further research by checking the Barnet Press ,and the results which is held at the Hendon library if you want to check the league's results till...

Re: Aston Villa vs West Ham United: match thread
This is a long shot and probably a Micky take so apologies. I live up north and have done so for many years. Someone working in the city tomorrow has 3 Villa tickets for me but they cannot meet at the ground Sunday. If there was anyone city based that could have got them for me that is coming to th...

Another example of one of the players improved under Moyes...so easy for a 'top 6 club to spend 50-60 million to bring in another player but to work and get the best out of what you have is another level

Re: Romford
Like a lot on here I didn't know Romford, he did once PM me giving me some advice once on something, probably travel related. The advice was as you would expect good. I thought I recognised him once at Man City away, I didn't know what he looked like (subsequent pictures have confirmed I was right),...

Re: Welcome Jesse Lingard
I think he’s been great.....a real breath of fresh air, and watching him buzzing around up top augurs well for the future. Just a note of warning....remember the last time there was a clamouring for a loan player to sign permanently?? :arry: so we don't sign him because Carroll wasn't a success?

The Liverpool 74-75 was the first WHU programme I ever had...given or swapped for 2 QPR programmes by a Chelsea fan who attended. I had never visited The Boleyn at that point. I got the QPR progs off a QPR fan who was a friend at the time. Later I built up a collection of home and away pgms from the...
