Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

When we sneaked past Kidderminster in the cup we had 20 shots to their 14. They were five divisions below us with a much greater disparity in ability than between the teams tonight but still threatened. Leverkusen had 32 shots vs our 1. We may have defended resolutely but you aren't going to escape...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

It'll be very hard to judge Moyes on this season until the full truth about January comes out. The first half of the season was very good, but every man and his dog could see we needed significant reinforcements to the squad in January, and instead our squad ended the month even thinner and weaker. ...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Gutted really. Of course I’ll get myself up for it next week but 2-0 is tough to overturn against a good side. We just don’t have the squad for this. Who you blame for that…well it’s been debated to death. But it’s the reality and it’s the reason we will probably be out of Europe this time next week.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Strangely enough I’ve enjoyed the last two games as much as any this season. Don’t have an issue with the subs, just as last time against Villa they clearly didn’t work but the thought process behind making them was logical at the time, including Phillips. How was it logical when in both games we w...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

Danny Ings showed v Burnley that he still knows where the goal is . Totally different player to Antonio ( but so is Phillips ) so why not swap a striker for a striker? I said this last game vs Villa and a couple of posters said it was a silly suggestion. I don’t get (except perhaps for the final fe...

Re: Sam's ear

The bloke is and was an arrogant ****er, but one who we needed at least for the first couple of seasons he was in charge to get us back and keep us up. After that is a period I’d rather forget for the vast majority of it. People think there’s a split in the fans now, it was far more toxic under him....

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25

I’m struggling to understand this one. Could you expand please on why the club would prefer a “tourist”, whatever that might be, to a loyal season ticket holder of 40 years? Pretty much what Knighter said. More likely to overspend on the ticket, more likely to buy merch, less likely to complain. Ba...

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25

My dad is seriously considering not renewing. He’s been a ST holder for over 40 years. The bloke next to us isn’t renewing.

Not sure the club are even that bothered, they’d rather get more tourists in.

^^^ Lots of singles in the lower tier at the sides - nothing behind the goals. Loads towards the back of the upper tier all round. It doesn't go on General Sale until 11am Monday. Been in that upper tier quite a few times when other tickets weren't available and the old man was sitting with someone...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

Can’t ask for more than that. Yes it’ll be incredibly tough but we’ve avoided Liverpool until the final, and given a couple of teams chances to knock them out so maybe we never need to meet them. Leverkusen and then an Italian giant in the semis - this is what it’s all about ladies and gents. COYI! ...

Huge credit to Moyes for tonight and our results in Europe in general as manager. Don’t think anyone could have done better.

Well that was bloody brilliant.

I’ve been critical of Moyes but you can’t question his record in Europe with us. Our greatest ever manager in European competition.

Bring on whoever (but please for the love of God not Liverpool).

Very happy with that half but worried about Paqueta, clearly struggling since he went down.

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

I know all the asking for the crowd to be up for it from Moyes, the players etc. can be a bit cringeworthy, but tonight is one where we really can play a big part. Let’s get right behind the team. This is our season on the line IMO and we don’t know when we might have a European foray again. COYI :s...

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

plenty of seats left so I guess the atmosphere will be poor again. such a shame as we need the 12th man effect ! I don’t think there’s really a big correlation between the stadium being ‘full’ and the atmosphere being good. I’ll be up for it on Thursday evening and I suspect many others will be as ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Well I mean yeah they are the only two options without spending more money, and we know who is controlling the purse strings. Unless you're blaming Moyes for not unearthing 6x 20m Lucas Paqueta's. Or you're suggesting that our youth players are currently as good as Said Benrahma is. In terms of our...

Or would you rather 6x Said Benrahma's.
Because those are the only two options?

Come on mate, it’s clear that Moyes has to take some blame for our squad being so thin.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

I think I’d probably blame the players for the first half rather than the manager. But then probably ask what the manager said at half time and why the difference in performance in the 2nd half. Out of interest, why do you think it’s the players’ fault rather than the manager? We’ve seen countless ...

Every team has controversial decisions for them and against them. We are not the victims of some kind of systematic conspiracy If we stopped conceding legitimate goals then we wouldn't be at the mercy of iffy decisions Yep. We have been a bit unlucky with decisions recently but blaming the results ...
