Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

In the last three seasons we have twice found ourselves in mid-April with a double chance of qualifying for Europe. Unprecedented.

The season where we didn't have two chances come April, was last season - and we won the Euro.

Moyes is the man for me.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

As most agree, a fantastic effort last night and we came so, so close. You could notice the moment Alvarez started to struggle, around the hour mark, and he began digging in effort to muster up a final go. He was choked at being taken off - a great sign. Bowen was caught in two minds between shot or...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Beaten by the better side on the day and showing the signs of the schedule this thin squad has endured this season. In the end it was down to two sloppy losses of possession in midfield by Paq and a failure to clear our lines when given a chance. You see it time and time again in the modern game whe...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

All hypothetical though isn't it? Maybe not last night, but had no one left in January then who's to say that the 20 minutes or so cameos that Fornals , Benrahma or Kehrer had played in games since then might have resulted in some fresher legs on the park last night. Same argument might have meant l...

3441 pages - and he is our most successful manager of modern times.

I wish there had been this level of protest about leaving the Boleyn.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

If you enjoy watching us week to week and you want it to continue as we are, you do you....I think we could achieve the same, if not more, by actually taking games to teams with the players we have. We've scored 21 goals in our last 10 games (inc last night). We've scored 8 in 3 away league games i...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Anyone looking for answers to last night should ask the chairman. After all - If it’s shrink wrapped then it must be porn. After 14 years in charge I’m surprised at how this shyster con-man has had largely a free ride and been made to feel uncomfortable maybe just once. In that time, he has sold and...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

you have to accept the reality that he allowed both Fornals and Benrahma to leave. He either allowed it willingly, which is an atrocious decision. Or he was too weak to stop it, which is just as worrying....Or the manager decided we’d be better with money in the bank than two players of Premier Lea...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I'll criticise the manager with my opinion as to the use of subs etc but I do think the players let him down yesterday somewhat. They failed to get a grip on things and break up play once Antonio went off. I'd like to see more fresh legs come on and use of the bench. Would I change the manager - abs...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

We were running them ragged at one stage of the second half. But you could see Antonio was gone after the hour. It would be great if we could replace him with like for like but there aint no one who is fancied within the squad. However, we still have the "luxury" of a Man City internationa...

Re: Ben Johnson

I'd quite like to see an attempt made to convert Ben into a like for like replacement for Antonio. He has the physique and the pace, plus years on his side. He can be taught how to run the channels, be an out-ball, and generally make a nuisance of himself up front. It won't matter initially if he do...

I wonder if those turkeys with the Moyes Out flags and banners have taken them along to the last 5 games and been waiting for a chance to show them. They must be gutted.

Somewhere near the standard we were promised when they blew up the Boleyn...not that baffling really. ..........................a few gullible twats, like me, were talked round, and now feel an enhanced level of being totally p*ssed off. They set themselves a high bar.] But that's not Moyes's fauly s...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Seriously, what are people watching ? What are they expecting ? This. I think a lot believe we are much better than we really are. If anything, we have over achieved under Moyes. But this has long been the case as we generally, on the whole, see through our claret & blue specs. How do others se...

Re: 2023 - One of the best in our history??

The calendar year of 1981 was pretty good. Indeed it was. Lost only 3 league games in the calendar year, won the 2nd division and reached the League Cup Final (& replay). Might have been a second division side up to May, but no one fancied coming to Upton Park under the lights. Plenty of first ...

I haven't looked this up, but the ground at Woolwich wasn't Dial Square was it? Great Question BTW.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

For those asking why we can't/don't play like we did in the 2nd half for 90 mins - have a listen to Moyes in the post match presser. He says when you play a team like Spurs you can't open up too early otherwise they will pull you apart. He also praises his players who can play this way and have the ...

Re: The Boleyn Ground ~ East stand

I swore at the time it was the best place ever to watch a football match. Absolutely it was - especially for those of us below 6ft! Back in the old wooden stand my brother reckons you could see the game while having a piss! Migrated to the Chicken Run in the late 70's after being everywhere over th...
