Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

https://www.whufc.com/news/west-ham-united-issue-retain-list Two big names missing from the list of departures there. Looks like Oggy and Fab are sticking around. Fredricks is an interesting one, as I sort of expected him to stay around. Injury didnt help, but he did have some good moments in a WHU...

Re: The 25th annual KUMB Awards: Have you voted yet!?

Really enjoyed that one! Have an honorary POTY vote to Noble. Most improved was Rice, and I mean that in the sense that his capacities increased to a even greater extent this season. Most missed was Lingard (we’d have come sixth with him), and ‘worst’ was Zouma given the PR disaster that has followe...

Re: Season Review 2021/22

Fantastic season. With a compact squad we played over 50 games, finished in the top 7, got to the semi-final of a European competition, and the quarter final of the league cup (being both sides of Manchester on the way). The only disappointment is that there is an air of 'what could have been'. The ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Right, if it hasn't the planning starts now.

With Noble retiring, Yarmolenko leaving, Fredricks expected to return to Fulham, and Kral unlikely to stay, that four players that will need replacing in some shape or form, and that doesnt mention the upgrades that could be had in areas to the first team.

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Fuming. We haven't been good enough. It's effectively been in our hands with just 45 minutes of football to play. This, and as proud as I am of the way the team has acquitted itself, and how the intrepid squad did so well over 50+ games of football, this will genuinely leave a sour taste in the mou...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

The sad thing is, there will be a lot to pick over if this opportunity is missed.

To throw away a lead, and to have Palace do us a favour is unbelievable. We have handed Man U the place in Europe.

Re: Sharpe assault [non WHU]

Currently, Clubs have more information on attendees than they have ever had in the past. Even those who attend without any information being in the club's possession, are at least linked to somebody who is fully know to the club, and at that point you will be held responsible for somebody else's beh...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Areola is the definition of 'no-brainer'. The guy has played almost 20 games this season, and has played a major role in our cup-progress this year. Lest we forget seasons where we exited both cups after a single game each. He has also just been announced as included as being in the French squad for...

Re: What were you doing 10 years ago today?

I was at a morning conference. Raced back home just in time to settle in front of the TV. A great win, followed by Leinster winning the Heineken, and then the CL Final. There may have been two deliveries of food involved. We had been exceptionally strong over the final 8 games, after the Reading los...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

To me, the disappointment of the Frankfurt game, and loss of the two goal lead to City, and the fact we are secured in Europe (albeit in the Conference) means that I am taking this one in my stride a little bit. Essentially, Que Sera Sera in my eyes. This is helping my mindset, as anything over and ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

We don’t need a RB. Far more urgent work needed elsewhere. Its got Palace all over it for Wan Bissaka, I assume he might prefer that as well. Only issue I can forsee is that Man united won't want to take much of a haircut on the price paid in 2019. He is young, he is developing etc, and he has play...

I'd rather pay big money for him than Phillips. He's still only 22 and has a big future imo.
Don't get me wrong, I want him! He ticks a lot of boxes from our point of view, and like Zouma, you will need to pay for him. He has a very bright future.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

If it's at all possible, and if Chelsea are willing to sell, I think Conor Gallagher would be an outstanding signing. I'd rather have him than Phillips. He works hard, puts a defensive shift in, and is great going forward. If we wanted a solid 3 man midfield but without it being too overly defensiv...

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Man United's record vs Man City (1-6, aggregate) and Liverpool (0-9) Ours is 3-4 and 3-3. They've bullied on the old flat track a little more efficiently than us, but those scorelines show how far they are away, presently, from a true challenge in the league. The dividing line is the 1-3 aggregate ...

Seeing all those Rangers fans out there in Seville pissing it up in the sun and all of them having a gay ol time makes me so envious and angry all at the same time. It's just not fair. ****ing Cresswell I could wring his neck
I don’t know. I struggle to envy Rangers fans under any circumstances.

Re: ⚽ Brighton & Hove Albion vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Redcafe is a good read right now. Most of their "fans" think they're too **** to get something away to Palace and all their players are a disgrace, and they'll be relying on a good Brighton team getting something vs us, whilst at the same time stating that it's important that they get int...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend 500 up

You can’t go through the last 18 years, and all that has passed under the bridge without truly appreciating and acknowledging the importance of Mark Noble. In 2007 we were almost hoarse as in unison we screamed at Alan Curbishley to bring him in, and after that he became such an integral part of our...

Or we just build everything attacking around him, including our choice of new striker and forget trying to replicate Antonio (impossible anyway). Build around our strongest club foundations for years. Simples. ⚒ Totally agree. There is undoubtedly a core of excellent players that is making this sid...

That table looks a lot different if Lingard hadn't had his one decent PL moment in a red shirt this season and we hadn't messed up in the game at OT...and that's before Nobes penalty miss.
It’s bizarre how that flap of the butterfly’s wings has ultimately been as influential as it has been.

Re: Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

Probably with all the focus on Rice, we should be keeping at least one eye on the Bowen situation m. Undoubtedly he will get a call up by Southgate in the summer, and also other clubs will give him a once over in terms of where he might fit in their transfer strategy.
