Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Starting to get excited. Been flat for a week, but it's hitting home now. Normally drive but catching the train tomorrow, hoping that it doesn't go into penalties otherwise it will be a long night at Paddington Station. If it does go to penalties it will be a fantastic achievement and worth trying t...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

DM outers seem to want us to lose or complain when we win. You have to question whether those posters really are WHUFC supporters, but I don't care today , we won . :scarfer: Strange statement. I have commented that it doesn't feel right, but it no way am I a David Moyes outer. I have supported us ...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

4rk VAR, 4rk PGMOL.
Crap winning like that.

Glad we won, but feel flat and feel like with been given it because 8-10 games in a row we have been shat on. Haven't got the normal winning buzz. How do the top 6 cope with their consciences?

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Unless I'm mistaken , didn't MOTD mention that Antonio had backed into their goalkeeper just before the ball fell loose away from the keeper and intercepted by Kudus. Match of the day didn't even show the 'Kudus 'goal' in the highlights, let alone discuss whether or not it should have been disallow...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

As a conspiracy theorist we are absolutely nailed on to draw Liverpool. If Champions League hasn't been drawn City v Arsenal. Aston Villa v hardest team. Germans then get the easiest route possible, pissing on Aston Villa/Tottenham/Manure's chances of 5th place qualification but also making it harde...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

I think I would be inclined to swap JWP for Alvarez. Drop him back a bit and let Philips/Soucek take it in turns moving more forwards. The management of this next half feels like it is critical to how our whole season pans out. BUT it does feel very much like the Arsenal game at the moment. Come on ...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

That was like watching WWE when my kids were young. Looked like the result was pre-ordained and our both sets of players were just going through the motions waiting for the moment to let them have the winner, then just for a bit of drama the late twist that affects nothing. My only worry is that by ...

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

Now that it’s over I finally have the confidence to say this - Everton are absolute ****ing **** and I hope they get relegated with another 20 point deduction. They bring absolutely nothing to the league Personally I don't think that's quite fair. They fully contributed to a fantastic game of footb...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

I read the game a lot differently to most (looking at the last couple of pages). I thought we did reasonably well individually and would only really criticise the left winger that came on (can't remember his name but he got licked quite often). Without bent officiating that was a draw - but that is ...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

If the ref isn't bent he is weak. We can no longer influence the ref at home. Not the same impact from the crowd. This game can still be lost, drawn or won. We all know we need to speed up, shift Kudus to the right and have Antonio on the left. I think the only sub that needs to be made is Mavropano...

Re: Players you completely forgot used to play for us

Beanpole goalkeeper Ian Feuer. I definitely remember seeing him play for us away at Pride Park. Still no idea how to pronounce his surname. Strange with a name like Dieter Eckstein! Feuer, I believe, is German for fire and is pronounced FOY ER (unless you are actually german and your pronunciation ...

Re: To Those That Went Today

I never leave early, but fully understand why loads did. If I had I would have avoided getting rear-ended on the M25, so would have been the far better option!

Birthday present from my son as well - so he's now disowned :crylol:

This feels like a West Ham thing. Safe(ish) at Christmas - job done!

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

I honestly burst into roaring laughter twice in the match. So much so that people in the row in front turned round to stare at/laugh with me. I am always loud and always get stared at in games. I was one of only 3 people left in the row. 1/ Zouma slipping and then managing to head the ball 2/ Philip...

Re: West Ham United FC Vs Arsenal FC Match thread

The match yesterday was a birthday present from my son who had to give up his ticket because his in-laws booked a skiing holiday without asking if he had a game to attend. Not exactly the best birthday present I've had. We got rear ended by Arsenal then I got rear ended in the fast lane of the M25 o...

Looked to me like a clearing of the decks.

Blank canvas after the end of this season, hoping for the best with as little outlay as possible.

Bid incoming?

I was, as I am sure you realised, being completely ironic.

Trouble is if we, as a club, start pointing the finger there will always be three fingers pointing back.

Leeds fans would say otherwise, they dubbed him The Yorkshire Pirlo
We have sorely missed the Cockney Pirlo and killer balls over the top/down the middle. Let the ball do the work.....

Re: Joe Lewis [non WHU]

Just remember - it is ludicrous to believe there is any bribery & corruption in English football and this, therefore, will completely exonerate any Spuds board members or, indeed, anyone else connected in any way to the Premier League.
